Re: Tried something new
Second new recipe tried this week https://www.bbc.co.uk/food/recipes/chic ... bake_97733 Very simple but very tasty. Generous portions though, I halved the recipe and that fed both of us generously with enough leftover for my lunch.
Re: Tried something new
I was looking at the online version of the Waitrose magazine and saw a recipe for a bake with gnocchi, pesto, spinach and mozzarella. I had all the ingredients so made it. Really good, and as an added bonus, it was really quick to assemble. And once finished it looked just like the photo.

Re: Tried something new
Well, it’s in the February Waitrose magazine, but if you can’t find it online I’ll write it out for you!

Is it this one Wic? https://www.waitrose.com/content/waitro ... occhi.html

Yes, that’s it!
When i made it I used frozen spinach and scattered a bit of Parmesan on top at the end, just because I had some. It also looks to me from the picture as if they were using pine nuts, but haven’t mentioned them in the recipe

Re: Tried something new
could there have been whole pine nuts in the pesto they used? or maybe the stylist thought it'd look more interesting!
looks good though.

Conch which was lovely, slightly spicy but very tender. A cross between squid and octopus.

Sounds good, not something I've ever tried but I enjoy squid and octopus.
Re: Tried something new
I needed a quick supper. So I made use of stuff that I had to use up. It ended up as a sort of onion flan/pizza. A sheet of puff pastry with tomato puree on it, plus grated cheese and a layer of sweet onion. Then studded with small tomatoes.
I was happy with it. OH wanted second helpings!!

Re: Tried something new
Sounds good aero
I made this last night https://realfood.tesco.com/recipes/carbonara-pizza.html Despite it having little to do with a proper carbonara if you overlook that it was really good. Bases are quite small so I used three but stuck with the original topping quantities and there was plenty. It got a big from DS2 and my sister. Ideal for a "Friday" dinner but felt like I'd made a bit of an effort.

Everything looks good as usual.
I really like the sound of that pizza, ltc. I might save my carb allowance for it one day as I have had two bases in the freezer forever thinking GD would like to make some - but she never does.
