Re: Foodies In The News
That sounds a bit heavy though I like the idea of maple syrup
This is absolutely classic as far as I can tell, very similar to a recipe I’ve used occasionally over the years; I do blind bake the crust and I think it’s nicer made with evaporated milk than cream. Also, unless you are making it to use up the trimmings of your Jack o’Lantern Libby’s canned purée (Waitrose is definitely the way to go
It’s a bit wordy

I think this is the Yotam sausage traybake recipe in this weeks Waitrose mag. It sounds good, we’ll be trying it soon.

Certainly an 'interesting' base for the Guardian pumpkin pie.

I love coconut milk and think it’s great in curries . One of those items I always make sure I replace if I use the last one in the cupboard
Re: Foodies In The News
the item on the swedish venue includes these lines -
i can interpret the first sentence but the second leaves me wondering if i've suddenly stopped understanding english.
Hiding one’s body and one’s lack of money has become part of survival in London. I have hidden sandwiches or hidden myself where I should buy before sitting in places all over town: haven’t you?

I thought much the same scully
On coconut milk, Charmaine Solomon points out that if a recipe tells you to make the coconut milk from scratch, or is an old one that assumes this, you probably need to dilute canned coconut milk 2 parts milk + 1 water or even 1+ 1 as you just can't extract such a rich milk using ordinary kitchen equipment, does explain one or two dishes I didn't like as much as expected

These stews look good. Gill Meller’s recipes are usually excellent.

I do hope not, they grow here, mostly in peoples gardens. I used to help in a charity shop, one day a Cypriot came in with large carrier bag full of avocadoes, there were so many that i bought some home for our neighbours.Pepper Pig wrote:Could it be the end for the avocado?
