Re: Wildfood campsite
They’ve back-pedalled on the COVID NSAID thing, I wouldn’t take them for Covid symptoms (stick to paracetamol) but I don’t think there an issue with taking them during the pandemic
All NSAIDS (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs) affect blood clotting to some extent so should be used cautiously with blood thinning drugs. They vary
All can aggravate some gastrointestinal complaints, again vary in strength and individual response
I looked it up and some of them also interfere with some blood pressure medication.

Re: Wildfood campsite
Scully OH and the dressing gown was a reflex reaction.
I have a done a very good job of wearing myself out for tonight, today. About 8 or 9 hours hard labour in the garden now I am not shattered (very very surprisingly), but nicely tired (and very dirty!) Back hurts a bit. I heard something snap (but obviously not) right at the beginning of the day when lifting a bag of compost, but it's not too bad. It doesn't feel like I've done a lot for all the hours. Potted 12 tomato plants (I didn't think I had that many ready to do). Missed one, which is annoying, but at least it's one in a bigger pot. Also three aubergines. Potted up morning glory batch 2, planted out a giant sunflower, and a few other plants – borage, rudbeckia, achillea etc. Did lots of watering.
I have bird issues with some of my fruit. An infestation on one of the cherries.
Strawberries and raspberries are coming... As are two artichokes.
I’d be feeling contented after all this, if it weren’t for tomorrow.
I also made dinner (it's in the oven, Gnocchi in a tomato, garlic, thyme and aubergine sauce with lots of cheese.)
Went to the post box to post a b-d card for a colleague.
And discovered we have had mice in the porch where I have been keeping my potatoes and onions, and quarantining food (which tends to end up lingering there longer than necessary.) I had my suspicions the other day when I found a hole in the bag of peanuts for the birds. Holes in potatoes and droppings.
Will be leaving the porch door open for cat access.
So….

Yes, good luck Herbi.
My friend Kay who is restoring a walled garden in Harefield opposite Patsy’s had to call in the beekeepers today to collect a swarm which had settled on one of her taller plants. I’m afraid that would have finished me!

worth a bale of hay!
you have to remember that they aren't in sting mode when they're swarming - they've had a good meal and are off house hunting.

The severe form of COVID is different to other flue-like illnesses they've seen before and can cause blood clotting issues, so maybe NSAIDs are not a good idea;
"One important difference is that the cytokine storm in severe COVID-19 results in widespread blood clotting, which can in turn trigger heart attacks, strokes, deep vein thrombosis (DVT), pulmonary embolisms (clots in veins in the lungs) and limbs so damaged they may need to be amputated."

Re: Wildfood campsite
Good Morning Campers, just a quick pop in as I have to take Deb to the eye clinic. They always use eye drops so she cannot drive safely.
My Mother kept bees, her first swarm was collected locally. Deb came home from school (it was years ago) saying that someone's granny had a swarm in their garden. I remember them being the branch that they were on being cut, the swarm being put ii a cardboard box. When we got home the swarm was tipped onto a sheet in front of the hive and the bees marched into the hive.
Hope all goes well, Herbi

Valuation day today, the house looks like a show home ! Almost frighted to live here !
Smashing weather too, and I heard the cuckoo again. Might light the BBQ after the 2nd agent has gone and then sit in the garden as look at the 'Wisley' standard show garden......
