Re: Christmas Pudding
We consume our Christmas dinner over a long period so it's often quite late at night by the time we reach pudding stage (so the mains have plenty of time to go down). Either that, or we have our pud on Boxing Day.
Food, felines and fells (in no particular order)
Re: Christmas Pudding
A small slice of (bought?) Christmas pudding, fried in butter, and served with (alcoholic) cream. Simple, but delicious !

Re: Christmas Pudding
My alternative Christmas pud has been Heston’s pears in red wine
To reduce the recipe probably best to cut the pears in half so that the reduced number of pears can be covered by the reduced amount of liquid

Perhaps we should introduce our ancient monuments to eachother, Pampy. The OAPs of the Pudding World!

I'm not averse to fried Christmas pudding for breakfast with bacon on the side....

I did a slight combo of HB's and Felicity's perfect today, for guests on Sunday.
Will report back!

I really liked Felicity's opting for poaching in the oven, rather than on the hob, as I have never really mastered using a ceramic hob - having grown up and spent all my formative cooking years with gas, I'm afraid I just don't get it right with electric
Re: Christmas Pudding
This was our pudding .. homemade black cherry trifle topped with flaked almonds and really cute chocolate caramel penguins from hotel chocolat.
Re: Christmas Pudding
Our Christmas Pudding, and no doubt Pampy‘s, too, didn’t even come out of the cupboard. Again. I now feel it might be bad luck to break into it, like getting rid of an old friend, somehow. But we did manage cheese and biscuits from a hamper we’d been given.

Re: Christmas Pudding
I love Christmas pudding but I failed to buy one this year.
Might pick one up tomorrow, who knows?

We don't have much of a sweet tooth but The Lushly would feel very hard-done by if I didn't make a traditional xmas pud - he absolutely adores it!
