Re: TV & Online Cooking Shows
I quite enjoyed the Andi Oliver show, it’s hard not to like her enthusiasm. I can’t help thinking that in any large group of people there would be some grumbles about the amount of chilli used though.

I see that they are trailing the new series of Masterchef.
I didn't see the Andi Oliver programme but I do find that the TV chefs seem to put chili in everything. Especially N Lawson and R Stein

Andi has Antiguan roots - it would be quite odd if she didn't use chilli. When she briefly had a local restaurant I didn't find her food particularly hot, apart from items that were identified as very spicy
Can't say I've noticed Rick Stein using a lot of chilli except in dishes like curry where you'd expect

I can manage the names of 6 of them. I wouldn't call any of them stars, or studs...
The only one I can see that has had a career outside of the media is Harry Aikines-Aryeetey who is an olympic athlete.

I recognise quite a few of the names, eg a couple from Strictly, but none I follow or am really interested in.
If I was placing a bet it would be on Eshun Akbar who I recognise from QI, good at problem solving and I suspect quite foodie. So I guess he won’t win.
He and Christine McGuinness were on that pilgrimage thing which I though a few people watched.

Yes Harry and the two Pilgrimage people were ones I knew. Christine McGuinness isn't as irritating as her husband. Edith Bowman is pretty well known as is H from Steps. I also knew Vito Coppola.

I can do 4
My pet hate at the moment - I love 'normal ' Masterchef, but where have all the ordinary people gone?
Hardly anyone old
Hardly anyone fat
Hardly anyone plain
Hardly anyone with a factory/office job

Has anyone watched this programme? It's supposed to be about lost Polish foods being rediscovered.

These restaurant dishes may have been for the landed gentry and aristocrats, they certainly weren't for the majority of the population. My late father was Polish and we ate lots of potatoes, cabbage, beetroot, onions, salami, sauerkraut, lentil or pearl barley soups, poppy seed cakes, yogurt and various types of bread. Nothing fancy....
The milk bars are different - low priced simple dishes for budget conscious people. We went to one in Krakow. I think we had a potato/egg meal which was one of the worst cafeteria meals we've ever had but maybe something went wrong in the translation.

Celebrity MasterChef
I have actually heard of 5 of them, but I'm pretty sure 2 of them have done it before.
