Yes, I think that’s about the nearest.

But Hemel has 3 Aldis (and a Lidl on the way).

At Morrison's, rump steak is on offer at £9.99 per kg for More card holders - full price £17.00 per kg. On Saturdays, there is a 20% off offer on steak.

Today I bought a packet - 430g which should have been £7.31. However, it only cost me £2.83! I had a saving of £3.02 because of my More card, but then £1.45 was taken off ( 20% of the full price ).

Janet
It looks as though the rump steak offer is still on this week, so there should be another chance of a double discount on Saturday (2nd Dec.)

I got a nice big piece of rump, as that price I can use some for a stir fry (beef with peppers and black bean sauce)

Double Timer Timers!!!

Post by Sakkarin »

I always have two timers to hand, and my current pair I bought online, but they are not loud enough or bright enough, so I was going to ask if anyone here had a suggestion for a good one.

However in the meantime I popped into TK Maxx earlier, and bought two of these, only £3.99 each, not realising that not only were they very cheap, they each have TWO timers!!! And they are both "hours and minutes" timers, which I prefer to the minutes-only ones that I had before. They are also twice as loud as my online ones.

Anyway, I thought anyone out there in the UK looking for a replacement timer might like to know, although I know TK Maxx is a bit pot luck...

Good to know about the timers. I need one for work. I’ll pop in sometime soon.

Morrisons have leg of lamb on offer to everyone but extra discount with More card

Works out at £7.50/£6.50 per kg, I got a nice half leg which is in the freezer.

Yes, we did too, we thought there was a mistake at the checkout as I hadn't clocked the price when I picked them up!!

Exactly the same as I'd do with anchovy flavoured coffee.

 . Lavender goes well in all kinds of dishes. I would use infused olive oil in dressings and in cooking chicken.

I won’t buy any lavender scented oil, but I remember having Herdwick mutton cooked with lavender in a restaurant in Islington; tasted rather like rosemary with a twist.

I finally opened some Lidl nuts I bought before Christmas, labelled Alesto Snack Mix Roasted and Salted Nut Mix - nice enough nuts but they aren’t coated only with salt but with a mix of salt, onion and garlic powder and other things, which I really don’t like. Caution
