Re: Where have you eaten out today?
tehidy woods cafe.
butternut squash soup - nice but could have done with a bit less salt.
our daughter, who also had it asked if anyone else found it a bit salty. my partner said that if i found it salty it must have been too much.
the beach in an hour or so.

Bufallo mozarella with broad beans, lemon (literally slices of lemon, but a 'mild' very large one, tiny capers and rocket. Then a very chocolatey thing (chocolate nemesis? A moussey torte served with soured cream), which I chose against my better judgement. I should have had the lemon tart. You can't have too much lemon? Actually I had homemade lemonade too!

We had a late lunch here yesterday
https://www.caffeconcerto.co.uk/restaur ... ridge.html
My inner Yorkshire woman was screaming…….’how much’. It was busy, crowded and service was dire. I assume it caters to mainly tourists and being opposite Harrods has a captive audience. The food was mediocre at best.
Later we ate at a fast food stall in Hyde Park at the concert, I’d say we had better food and better value for money.

Caffé Concerto is a chain, not got a specially good reputation, aimed at shoppers and tourists, the first branch I saw was in Wstfield at Stratford and I didn't like the look of it much

We just been to Rockfish Plymouth, as a pescetarian who is intolerant to dairy and gluten my meals out are few and far between. But Rockfish has excellent allergy awareness, MItch Tonk's daughter is a coeliac, and I feel totally relaxed eating beautiful fresh fish there. Today was no exception

We tried a new pub in Blackheath. It was... fine Not very characterful part of Blackheath, although a nice enough pub. I had asparagus with crispy duck egg, and shared some chunk chips. Then sticky toffee pudding with banana.

Karenia, Is that the one where you watch the tall ships pass next to the windows when the wee bridge is up, with paper tablecloth menus.Rockfish Plymouth
We've been there, and will go again next weekend, when we are staying at the Jurys hotel for 3 nights. It's wonderful.
Re: Where have you eaten out today?
That sounds lovely Karenia.
We ate at https://www.bell-and-crown.co.uk/ - one of our local favourites. Four of us shared four starters - burrata with nduja, liver parfait, smoked salmon and tapenade bruschetta. Then I had miso cod. All delicious!

Yes, that's the one It was low tide yesterday lunchtime so there were yachts sitting in the lock having their sails safely stowed away as the water equilibrated to the level in Sutton harbour, fascinating!gillthepainter wrote: ↑Mon Jul 04, 2022 5:53 amKarenia, Is that the one where you watch the tall ships pass next to the windows when the wee bridge is up, with paper tablecloth menus.Rockfish Plymouth

The Bell and Crown has always been lovely, Rocky.
We would walk down there when we lived in Kew. It's gorgeous round there anyway.

Yes, we used to go quite a lot when DS2 was working there and we lived close. He always enjoyed the meal he was entitled to as part of his shift. Since then it's had a refurb and, I imagine!, put its prices up At least 12 years agon.... maybe even 15 ....

Tried a pub we thought was an old man's pub but which turns out to be not at all, this evening. Food not amazing, but I needed distraction after the Paris Hotel debacle. Vegan potato salad, then Eton mess at the Perry Hill Pub. Sometimes you just want to get out of the house but not go far...
