Yesterday I was craving meat after three fishy days. I had some sausages but decided to skin them and mix in some flavourings then make them into meatballs. Had them as a traybake on a bed of leeks and puy lentils.

Tonight was dead easy, a chilli from the freezer with rice and a side of curly kale which needed using up.

Has been bitty the last few days, having a migraine put me off eating, but tonight I found a small piece of cheap post-Christmas Stilton in the freezer and made another leek and blue cheese risotto. Best yet, added a bit of celery and the Stilton was even better than St Agur. Big side salad.

Big bowls of pea and ham soup made with stock and meat from yesterday’s bacon hock, marrowfat peas which were soaked yesterday, onion. celery and carrot … finished with sprinkling of chopped mint and parsley and a knob of butter melting in the centre of the bowl and served with seeded wholemeal sourdough toast.

My last unfettered meal for a while tonight... although it was probably compliant with the low fibre diet that starts tomorrow. (Not entirely unintentionally. I would have liked peas too, but thought maybe best not.) A frozen ready meal from Lidl: spaetzle with cheese and added vegan bacon, smoked garlic granules and chipotle flakes. Quite nice, actually. If they have any left I might buy another as it's a useful too-tired-to-cook standby.

I fished the final portion of the choucroute I made in December out of the freezer and had it with potatoes and carrots. Think it’s nicer now as the flavours have melded

A cross between soup and stew with chickpeas, corn and other vegetables, ginger, turmeric, garlic and coconut milk - with rice. Very tasty.

EM, I’ve saved the recipe from the link you put on another thread. It sounds lovely.

Last night was gnocchi with peas and shredded ham hock in a crème fraiche/mustardy sauce, with a side salad.
I have some sea bass for tonight but not sure what I’m doing with it yet.

That's almost what we're having! I add nuts to the crumb. Ideally macadamia but it'll be cashews as that's all I've got.

The grated courgettes and carrots mix is sitting in a sieve, losing liquid in preparation for Axel's courgette fritters with minty yoghurt.

Saturday was linguine carbonara wit a salad

Yesterday I made a huge pot of (veg) chilli wit black beans and red beans, had some with a small sweet potato, yogurt & coriander, more tonight with rice and the same trimmings. Very good chilli, probably unrepeatable. Bravely put in a small Scotch Bonnet found in the freezer but not super hot.
