It’s a generational phenomenon isn’t it? There’s a pictorial joke that did the rounds on email maybe 10 years ago. The caption was ‘Proof of Global Warming’ or something similar. The picture was a washing line, with female undergarments hung in order from left to right according to popular fashion through the ages. Granny’s bloomers or Harvest Festivals to the left, bits of string to the right, with the items becoming increasingly skimpy over time as the climate warmed.

I suspect one’s knickers often get less skimpy as one gets older too.
Thongs were very much around when I was young though and not for me.

There’s thongs and then there’s thongs … I know there’s s’posed to be no VPL if you wear them, but the view OH and I had the other day of someone in a slim-fitting light coloured skirt, who looked as if she might have been wearing her smaller sister’s thong, had to be seen to be believed!

Most thongs have the top elastic sitting near the natural waist, and I often see people going up the stairs on the bus with much of their thong visible above their trackie bottoms

I’d like to think that what differentiates me from this is I’m not a regular trackie wearer. I’d much rather people didn’t see my pants!

I just discovered M&S Flexifit knickers. Incredibly comfortable. I got some high rise shorts ones but they do them in all styles. It's almost like not wearing any, but not quite, which is how I prefer it
