The individual items.
My local small Lidl now has a backlog of remainders from all the recent ‘weeks’ - Spanish, Greek, Italian, Alpine, Japanese…They will come full circle at this rate.

You still can’t get near our Lidl which opened yesterday! Where do all the people come from? We have a Tesco Extra, a Sainsbury’s and 3, yes 3 Aldis.

On my way back from visiting daughter yesterday I popped into both LIDL AND ALDI for a bit of seasonal shopping.

Bought more of the very moorish sugared biscuits from LIDL and also a bottle of Black Garlic Ketchup.....goodness...almost additive on sampling

They've got my favourite Finocchiona (fennel seed) Salami in Lidl at the mo, £1.99 for 100g, I treated myself to two packs!

For the record these days I seem to buy from Aldi far more than Lidl, Lidl's prices on some of my regular purchases seem to have crept up comparatively in the last year or so.

Aldi and Lidl here are just a couple of hundred yards apart, so it's nothing to do with the location.

Ooh, Hackney Lidl didn't have the finocchio salami, it's my favourite too, I got a pack of Napoli instead, also good.

As I said on another thread I think Lidl are slightly changing their offering, all the local stores have been reorganised, less Middle of Lidl, and more veg.

I don't know if it helps, but they usually have it in my local Morrisons too (loose on the deli counter), but I haven't been there since September as I've had a knackered ankle (nearly healed now) so can't guarantee they're still stocking it...

Mine too lick lips
Tesco also stocks it, but pricier.
Lidl is better for charcuterie.
Aldi for cheese.

If you ever see the authentic, (PDO or PGI, can't remember) Barrel Aged Feta in Aldi - buy it, It keeps a long time unopened in the fridge so doesn't have to be used at once and I think it is the best I've had outside Greece, far superior to generic white salad cheese

Sorry to hear about the ankle, Sakkarin, how annoying for you

If I'm desperate for the salami there's a local Italian deli, but I find the clutter hard to deal with, and £££

I think Lidl has excelled itself with seasonal treats this year.

For a second I read that as "Today it had blown down."

I hope no one was injured.

The French Lidl near us in Normandy has a lot more middle of. Almost a comprehensive line of clothing. Will definitely go back next time we are there. (The one near Cite Europe is rubbish...)

One from each, not actually specials

Lidl English Vintage cider, £2.19 a bottle iirc. Not quite as nice as Merrydown but I bought it for cooking and great for that.

Aldi Bramwell’s Whole Cranberry sauce in a jar - whole berries, not very sweet, v good. Approx 60p.

I bought some candied orange slices in dark chocolate from Lidl. They are really very nice (imo). Deluxe range. Might have to try to get more.

My guilty secret, peanut flips in Lidls.... a bit addictive for me. On peanuts..... my halved dates stuffed with small amount of P nut butter went down a storm last night. Sounds a bit strange but works really well.

I got a box of Medjool dates from Lidl, haven’t tried them yet but they look good, I like them filled with all sorts of things but PB sounds good. A fairly sharp cream cheese is good, marzipan of course or just any nice nut in place of the stone.

J has come home with some lobster thermidor crisps from Aldi :?
Because they were there....

Just enjoying them with a g&t.
Nice enough, not too different from cream cheese and chives flavour but nothing like any lobster thermidor I have eaten

Not vegetarian, obv.
