I never watched another animal film after that. Bambi was bad enough.

As much about travelling by train instead of driving as Somerset/Wiltshire, interesting how doable they found it, I'm not sure I'd feel the need to use 2 travel agents to plan a holiday in England but too be fair I was looking at an organised tour of Scotland, but that's partly because the itinerary could not be done by train (or by the agency it seemed)

I can't imagine doing one but these trips which combine places you might not usually think to stop at and eating seem to be becoming all the rage. They always look expensive but if you work out what it would cost to stay in a budget hotel for that number of nights, plus fares etc, it is often surprising. As with any organised trips, there is usually something I want to see in an area which isn't included, I do rather enjoy planning my own itinerary.

I think this was a bespoke, individual, itinerary, which is nearly always more expensive, but yes, I've looked at a few that, for example, visit vineyards or food festivals, and no you can't usually do them yourself for the price or include all the elements. I'd certainly consider the packages again, yes the bigger pre-planned packages nearly always miss something; it still rankles that I went to Ankara in Turkey, but not the Hittite museum, it wasn't planned and there wasn't time to go alone.

It's been happening since time immemorial I think Earthmaiden. Well keep them spending and it keeps the money rolling round I say, at least I think that is the theme or how it works and if they are paying the workers and keeping the economic myth going I suppose that keeps my pension going.
