I'm almost tempted to resubscribe to Netflix.

It's bad enough continually seeing headlines about the pair.

The thought of sitting through programmes like that could end in serious damage to the telly.

Tedious (not shouting at you)

Meghan isn't out until Jan 15th I see so hold that subscription renewers. Meanwhile I'm watching a Netflix Jennifer Lopez doc. She doesn't seem to eat so not appropriate here. But a Wow for JL anyway. I don't think any food is on show.

JL is exhausting. She still hasn't eaten anything. Only half way through.

I keep seeing these bread recipes that require 3 sessions of kneading at 10 minute intervals, Nigella has one, aand my question is what do you do for 10 minutes with oily hands in the middle of baking a loaf? To me it sounds more labour intensive, not less - or has someone tried it and been delighted with the results?

I expect its for people who have machines with dough hooks so it doesn't occur to them. Those 10 minute intervals seem rather inconvenient though.

The corn and zucchini slice looks 'interesting'. It's like a crustless quiche but with flour added.

No, the recipes refer to hand kneading, and you'd still have to hang around for ten minutes to turn it on again

I tried Nigella's version a couple of years ago when I was baking my own bread.. I recall it was a success and in the 10 minute breaks in between I just pottered within earshot of the timer after rinsing my hands

Zucchini Slice is a well known thing in Australia - kids love it and it's good for picnics. The flour gives it a sturdier texture than a quiche and you can add sweetcorn, peas, mushrooms, sun-dried tomatoes etc. It can be eaten hot or cold.
I think it was 'originally a Woman's Weekly recipe but I'm not sure.

The current AWW recipe doesn’t have the Grauniad’s refinement of drying out the zucchini but otherwise quite similar
https://www.womensweeklyfood.com.au/rec ... lice-6436/

One the other hand, the zucchini you are drying are “2 medium” which isn’t very helpful - it doesn’t really sound enough and I’d call the ones in the picture quite large.

Thanks for the AWW link, Sue.
They say 375g of zucchini, which is better, but I don't know how many 'medium' zucchini that would be!!
I've seen lots of variations on that recipe - all very similar though. For a bit of colour you can add grated carrot, too :)

It is, and when I am buying them loose I go to the in-store scales.

And is my idea of 'medium' the same as yours? It's very confusing.

Yes, it really can be very confusing, just as I always find it confusing when the weight of "peeled" veg is not given, but just a weight and the instruction to peel them  It could be my personal confusion, of course, and it's always clear for others :D

I take it to be gross weight although thinking about it more, I can see the difficulty with '500gms carrots, peeled', weighed before or after? Does it make a lot of difference?
