No shocks there then, Wildie's Aldi favourite does well, M&S wins.
My only problem with both of those is being literally 100% peanut, no salt, and although I under-salt my food for most people's taste, I do like a little with peanuts

OH gets through a fair bit of peanut butter and I bought some of the Manilife for the first time a couple of weeks ago … he really likes it … I tasted it and was very pleasantly surprised … none of that mouth-clogging cloyingness … and it has salt … not a lot, but it’s definitely there … just the right amount. We’ll be buying it again.

OH just said it’s the best he’s ever had!

I have only skimmed but I note a few things
1. There aren't many tested in any of these Guardian reviews
2. Having an IP mini, I'd stick with a multi-pot, if only for the (to my mind) huge advantage of having an on-board sauté function, that's the game changer I think; and I use the pressure cooking function too and don't want two big ugly pots)

OH is leaving ProCook shortly to take up another post … we’ve decided to make use of his staff discount before he leaves to buy another slow cooker … we have a very old basic ‘Crock Pot’ which has had a lot of use over the past 15+ years and is showing its age … we think it would be wise to replace it while we have this opportunity of a good deal.

The inability to sear is not a major drawback to me … I’m quite happy to use a shallow pan on the hob to sear and then give it a quick rinse out.

That's what I'd have said before I got it, and I still end up doing that for really big batches of meat or chicken, but because the temperature is accurately controlled you can get away with paying it almost no attention, so you can prep one ingredient, toss it in, then turn away and prep the next - I find it really helpful, and I was surprised as I hadn't expected to use it at all. Myabe more of a gain for someone who may not notice the onions over-browning until detectable by odour

Of all my gadgets, the slow cooker is the one I'd be least likely to replace. Mine is old and I have never perfected a red meat casserole. Chicken or larger cuts are OK. I love the look of those in the article. Shame you can't try before you buy.

It used to be one of the main reasons people went to Waitrose. I've a friend whose routine it was to get up and dressed, go to Waitrose for coffee at 8am and read the complementary newspapers in the cafe. It was incentive get up and out in the morning (retired people will understand this best!).

It was better when you could just have it in the cafe. My local Harrow one reintroduced it after Covid but it was a self service machine and only did full caffeine.

The newspapers used to be free if you spent a certain amount.

I'm not knocking it, the trend for diets only containing animal protein worry me. Whatever happened to a balanced diet?
