I keep thinking of how spot on "1984" was and is. Orwell nailed it on the head.KeenCook wrote: ↑Thu Nov 07, 2024 5:18 pm I just thought I'd share this article following the US election results https://www.theguardian.com/books/2024/ ... on-tyranny

This is the Jay Rayner book I’ve been listening to. The recipes are great and the stories very entertaining.

i'm on book ten of, i think, thirty two in the knights templar series by michael jecks.
a similar read to the crowner john books.
ps. i've just looked him up - i hadn't realised that jay rayner has written so many books.

I finished the Michael Jecks Templar series a while ago. I’m just up-to-date with his Jack Blackjack series.
There was a new Sister Fidelma book out which I read recently, but the plots are getting a bit similar in that series.
The latest Richard Cole’s book was a bit long winded. There were long sections about monastic rites and traditions which, while quite informative, added nothing to the plot.
