If you meant the thing we had, it was a very small dish. Starter sized. It wasn't a particularly cheap place.

I haven't tried it in tea but my vegan SIL is happy with it.

I enjoy it in porridge too.
I use oat milk in my morning smoothie but still use cow's for tea. My friend with MS now uses oat milk instead of cow's which means I now have that in my tea when I'm at hers. I have adapted quite well I think

I had a delicious Stilton tart with a bean salad and dressed leafy salad at The Clerkenwell Kitchen for lunch today.

That sounds lovely, herbi. We're being taken to lunch here today for my cousin's 60th ... https://www.sallyclarke.com/restaurant/

OH is feeling pretty off - he's had a perpetual cold and sore throat for ages that has now turned into a cough - but he doesn't want to miss it. It is one of our favourite places but not one we go to very often. The last time we were there, yonks ago, we saw Lucien Freud. Apparently it was his regular lunch spot.

I'm really looking forward to it!

Thanks Herbi, he was fine, although headed for his bed as soon as we got home!

I just posted this on the chat thread:
Lunch was great, I forgot to take any pics, but it was really delicious. The waiters were a strange mix between almost over attentive and inattentive!

They had to be reminded to give us a second helping of their very good bread and forgot to refill our water until I reminded them - but those are tiny gripes and certainly didn't spoil the meal. 60 yr old (1st once removed) cousin and her 93 yr old mother (1st cousin) were both on good form. I think that £38 for the lunch menu of such a high standard is very reasonable. The beetroot and hazelnut salad starter was great, the chicken in the main course was butter soft and tasty, dessert was a lovely chez panisse inspired poached pair and Breton type cake - I can't remember the name of those round moulds that have a dip in the middle for filling with deliciousness, served with a light gingery cream.

Yum!!!

Lunch yesterday was a fabulous pizza and a pint of Adnams Ghost Ship here
https://www.kneadpubs.co.uk/the-tobie-norris/
We come here as often as we can … the best pizzas known to mankind outside Italy

We chose our own toppings … I had artichoke and anchovies … OH had sun blush tomatoes and mozzarella … on the smaller size of pizza with a wafer-thin crust so light that it’s quite possible to eat a whole one. Not at all ‘bready’.

Nice sounding pizzas Suffs. lick lips We have returned from the Pear Tree Inn at Whitley, I had 3 cheese macaroni for starter. and Stone Sea Bass with prawns in a lovely sauce with new(small) pots with chives, blackberry creme brûlée with lemon shortbread. OH had fish goujons with curry mayo, ale battered cod, skinny chips and pea puree. He helped me out with my brûlée. A good evening all round. I had half an hour in ASDA in the RTC sections and got some real bargains, 4 brioche buns for 10p ! Asparagus for 90p.

An extra hours sleep tonight, I think I need it. Night all...

I met up with some people from choir who went to Sweden today at the Rose & Crown in Beverley. It was really nice. All but two of had a roast dinner, I had the southern fried chicken loaded fries, I think the other person had a salad.

I will definitely go back there again.

Dinner last night was here

https://www.skoshyork.co.uk/

Looking at the menu I was a bit concerned that it wasn’t really me but we had some fantastic food. It’s a small plates place so we shared

The beef toast
Cauliflower Manchurian
Fried chicken
Pork vindaloo
Crispy duck leg
Chicken massaman
Apple soft serve and a damson doughnut.

It was a quite leisurely service so we didn’t feel over faced.

It was our last meal with the friend whose house we are staying in whilst he is on a round the world six months trip. I think we gave him a good send off.

I love that place BB.
We were last there for my birthday in May. Usually some quite innovative things on the menu.
Generally we go for lunch as we can get the bus into and out of York.

Had a very nice lunch in the Camberwell Arms. Reflected on how the number of places of this quality and nature have dwindled, certainly beyond zone 2 in south London.
Last time we ate here I had a cast on my arm and it was difficult.
