Sounds great Pat
I made a pad Thai of doubtful authenticity but was nice. I used some bean sprouts I had open frozen and bagged up when I had an excess, not quite the texture of fresh but ok, worth doing to add to instant noodles etc

Thursday we had toad in the hole (farm butcher’s traditional sausages) with buttered hispi cabbage and onion gravy.
Friday’s supper was a quick meal of scampi and salt and pepper squid with oven fries and peas.
Yesterday I made a beef chilli which we had with rice and yoghurt. There’s plenty left to have with baked potatoes later in the week.

Last night I got out some of the pork slivers I froze a couple of weeks ago and made Stir Fried Pork Slivers with green peppers from Every Grain of Rice, which I had with some jasmine rice and steamed pak choi drizzled with a little sesame oil and oyster sauce.
Cogitating tonight.

Friday we had oven chips with chunky breaded haddock and minted peas. Not had that in such a long time but really enjoyed it.
Last night was Strictly so the inevitable pizza. Pimped a bought sourdough base with ready sliced chorizo, cheese, red onion slices, red pepper and jarred artichokes.
Tonight still to be decided but I have some mini chicken fillets which I fancy marinading and griddling. Will probably serve them on top of a traybake of various vegetables.

I have spent a bit of time searching for this post. I knew with the weekend we have that we would want something easy but nice for lunch. The local Sainsbury had their own brand and Crostata & Mollica. I couldn’t remember who had commented or what the comment was but I decided to go with it and have just had a lovely lunch of their Stromboli one with extra bits. Thank you.Stokey Sue wrote: ↑Sat Sep 28, 2024 8:42 am Lowering the tone, as I find a full size 12” pizza too much I like the “small plate” 8” pizza in Wetherspoons when I’m playing backgammon, quite thick but nice sourdough crust, reasonable toppings. I buy the Crosta & Mollica pizzette, same size, to cook at home and add extra topping
PS the name Crosta & Mollica nagged at me and I looked it up, it does mean “crust and crumb”, one of those names that I think of generically as made up “Strong & Noble” type business names.
Last night at the party was fabulous pulled pork with rolls and various salads. Dinner will be chilli.
Spicy broth with ramen, veg and salmon tomorrow.

Glad you liked the Stromboli Rocky!
The pizzette are frozen in packs of two (but individually wrapped inside the box) so I keep them on standby
In Glasgow Wetherspoons they had the mini pizzas with haggis on, really good,

Supper this evening … a small piece of Red Poll brisket (just enough for two greedy people) cooked in the slow cooker on a bed of sliced onions, with a potato and leek Boulangere, some quickly cooked purple sprouting broccoli, and onion gravy made with the onions and meat juices from the slow cooked beef. A big dollop of creamed horseradish and …. Bliss

Yesterday’s supper was two huge potatoes from the farm shop (they were in a bag of Desiree’s, not designated bakers) … I baked them and we had them with the second half of the chilli I made on Saturday and a green salad.

Re: What are you eating today?
As have been feeling a bit rough, it has been freezer diving
On Sunday I found a portion of peppers stuffed with minced meat and couscous and yesterday I had a hamburger in a bun with all the trimmings and a little salad (mainly to use up the rest of the tomato etc)

Last night we had poached salmon on an edamame bean salad with an Asian style dressing. I didn’t have as many edamame as I needed so I bulked it out with some fine beans and peas.
Tonight will be a broccoli and bacon pasta bake.

Today I plan to live it up. I will be having cottage pie in a pub in Earls Court!

Re: What are you eating today?
I had a Zoom meeting from 7 to 8 so dinner was a lmb stew from the freezer with mash and Tuscan kale,
The mash was made from a massive spud found in a pack of bakers so I have bubble & squeak for today, will go and get some butcher's sausages maybe, if not I have other things.

Yesterday’s supper was a home made chicken and leek pie made (using poached chicken thighs) with a bechamel sauce using the cooking liquor plus cream and topped with h/m rough puff pastry …

Re: What are you eating today?
.. everything sounds good but I am rather partial to a creamy chicken pie.
Re: What are you eating today?
You could’ve had a choice EM … as a total coincidence DD also served chicken and leek pie for supper yesterday.
