Mermelada

What would you do with this?

Don't want to give a spoiler, but don't spread it on your morning toast. (We didn't, luckily).

Yes, cheese or meat. Halloumi (grilled or kebabs) beckons too.

It was a gift from neighbours when they came back from Mexico. They also gave us some honey.

I think they think it's marmalade, but we're the only country that eats marmalade so I wasn't sure about how to eat it. The english version is chilli jam. We had some this morning on breakfast tortillas (tortilla, fried egg, tomato salsa and a dab of chilli jam). Delicious!!

i was going to say that mermelada is spanish for jam!

as a sauce in a burger?
with poultry of some sort?
what about in a bacon sandwich?

i'm going by what i'd try it in (or rather in vegetarian version of the above).
