I have banged on about the usefulness of melon ballers before - primarily to easily and quickly get seeds out of squash.

Yes, and to hollow out veg for stuffing - for those who haven’t used one the edge is sharpened, so it’s very much more effective than a spoon.

when i was little we used to have one with a butter curler on the other end. the balling end was never used but the butter end was used every day.
i don't have one - i use a desert spoon with a sharp-ish edge for hollowing things.

I'm on holiday in Edinburgh, but thanks to Stokey Sue we have just come back from Tranent clutching a melon baller and a honeydew melon. Never knew I needed a melon baller, J's still not sure

Good luck with the melon 0 there's a knack to making the balls, if you want to go that far, but you will certainly get the seeds out easily

As you are in Auld Reekie may I recommend briefly marinating the balls in a little ginger wine? Looks and tastes good
