Re: Great British Bake Off 2024
It was certainly an interesting episode. I was rooting for the girl who fainted, Illim? And poor Jeff. The person who left was dreadful last week as well.
I don't think I could have made one single thing they did.

Re: Smoked Fish
Yes, I agree with Sue. On the fish counter at Waitrose they only do undyed round here. Mind you it’s in a posh area.
I love smoked haddock and particularly kedgeree.

Thanks everybody. I’ll have a good look at the chocolate and the pastry. Mind you it might still end up being fruit salad . . .

Re: Vegan party dessert ideas please
How much dark chocolate is vegan? What would you substitute for flour in a crumble? Both good ideas but I need to be absolutely certain they are completely vegan and GF. I once got told off by one of my vegan pupils for offering him something with honey in. ETA. I don’t really want to be transportin...

There will be around 20 people in all but I’m looking for something which will serve 8 as there will be other offerin...

Re: Foodies In The News
Some of the worst food I’ve ever had has been at golf clubs. My parents were avid golfers, as is my BF who doesn’t rate the food at hers in MK either.

Re: What are you eating today?
I loved the figs. And I also liked the pizza with the egg on top that was saving Venice.

Re: Cook at Home Meals
Cook isn’t the same as the others Sue. No cooking prep involved. It’s the same as Charlie Bigham but frozen and different portion sizes.

Re: What are you eating today?
That sounds lovely Suffs although I would have to replace the goat cheese. I think I might have a fish supper tonight.
I barely eat the crust on pizza but I make sure every bit of the topping is consumed. 4 dough balls would constitute lunch for me.

Wow. Just watched episode 1. I think it’s going to be a very good series. Those illusion cakes!
