Duck sausages
I have rashly decided to cook these tomorrow for a late lunch with the weekend man ... however I fancy doing something different from the usual 'bangers' and mash.
A couple of thoughts ... sausage cobbler; or gently fried in a hoisin style bbq sauce; or .......
......any better suggestions from you
thanks

Re: Duck sausages
A cassoulet-style casserole, with white beans?
I like both pork sausages and duck with red cabbage, so duck sausages should be good with it too - I think I'd still add mashed potatoes in that case, or possibly a celeriac and parsnip mash.

You are right Miss Mouse, so the white beans that Suelle suggests might be a step too far
But I like the thought of red (or hispi?) cabbage and mash

Red cabbage keeps for several days once it's cooked, so make red cabbage for you and a something plainer for your weekend man, which you know he'll eat.

Re: Duck sausages
I would have suggested pulses in some form, but perhaps not for the company
Be interested to see how you like them

Re: Duck sausages
My first thought was either a fried rice , maybe with your hoisin/BBQ sauce on the side , or sausage rolls . Maybe add some red currant sauce and /or orange zest to the duck meat

Re: Duck sausages
I think a lot depends on the aromatics already in the sausages, if they are very herby then Asian flavours might be a poor match, if they are more spicy then I’d go in a different direction

Are the sausages from a butcher or supermarket? I'd be interested to try them.

So would I! The only duck sausages I've ever had were Chinese ones. Chinese sausages of all sorts taste more like Chinese sausages than anything else.
I'll soon make a cassoulet of sorts with the goose stock and scraps from the carcase. I'm looking for some sausages to go in it. My first thoughts were garlicky or Toulouse sorts.

They came from the farm shop in Beaconsfield ... They are free range, but nothing on the wrapping about flavourings ... actually, I could message her and ask - didn't think about that at the time of buying, just excited at finding something a bit different.

They are not far from Beaconsfield Services on the M40.... I could always meet you there (that would be nice anyway), but I presume you would be skipping round the M25
It's usually pot luck what I find at this farm shop ... they do most of their meat to order and only have a relatively small fridge section (no freezer section) One of the daughters is a chef and makes their own ready meals and the most amazing many flavoured scotch eggs

Re: Duck sausages
Might have an outing sometime when the weather's nicer! I used to work quite near there and a couple of my colleagues only lived round the corner but I don't have much connection there now.

Re: Duck sausages
Never heard of duck sausages but would love to try them as duck is one of my favourite meats. Knowing me I’d probably end up frying them and eating them with hoisin sauce and wrapped in Chinese pancakes . Must keep an eye out.
Cheers

I have never seen them, but that's not to say they don't do them.... when I am next there, I will mention it to the owner
By the way, the meal on Saturday was well received In the end I slow fried the sausages in the first instance, after slicing a red onion and slow frying that to add later.
I braised some red cabbage with red onion and cooking apple; steamed a couple of quartered jacket spuds then removed the skin to mash and lastly, after we returned from the pub (new refurb, checking out menu ) I did broccoli and lyonnaise peas - all the veg in the Instant Pot.
