Im not sure if we have done this before but here goes…..
Inspired by the meal planning thread and discussion re Lancashire Hotpot, what would be your last meal!
Lancashire hotpot for me, with crispy, crunchy sliced potatoes on top, Pearl barley in the mix and lots of vegetables and lamb neck.

Re: Your Last Supper
Oooh so many ......... but at the moment it has to be a huge bowl of Marcella Hazan's Trippa alla parmigiana and lots of crusty bread ... followed by a platter of ripe figs and dolcelatte ..... I would die very happy indeed.

Re: Your Last Supper
One of those fruits de mer sea food selections that comes arranged like a baroque scale model of Everest and accompanied by the best Chablis available
Followed by cheese and port

Re: Your Last Supper
As it would be my last supper, and could be eaten without guilt - a large portion of fish and chips from the best chippy that could be found, followed by tarte au citron.

Re: Your Last Supper
Roast chicken dinner (dark meat please) or a huge rib eye steak with all the trimmings. A massive cheese board and lots of red wine. No starter as I don't want to be too full for the cheese!

Re: Your Last Supper
I do so adore lamb with yoghurt and dill with rice. Chaource cheese with some crisp grapes.
Summer meal would be white gazpacho, chicken liver parfait with sourdough and a smooth chocolate filled pastry tart.
If in Greece, geminista (stuffed vegetables) done very well.

Re: Your Last Supper
Plump roast chook (bagsie all the skin), proper sage and onion stuffing, crisp roasties dusted in semolina, cauliflower in a white sauce please. Followed by Sage derby with crackers.
Re: Your Last Supper
I'll have a large portion of my favourite home-made fish pie please, with stir-fried mange tout and asparagus tips on the side. Followed by our wonderful local ice cream with sticky toffee sauce.
Food, felines and fells (in no particular order)

Re: Your Last Supper
I feel a bit like that about these 'last supper' things too! It's impossible to decide anyway.Pepper Pig wrote:To paraphrase Pooh Bah "I don't want any supper".
An 'Old Fashioned' cocktail - or two
To start: A small, light seafood platter with mostly lobster, prawns, a taste of smoked salmon and crusty bread and butter.
Then: The cheesiest macaroni cheese topped with cheesy crumbs and thin tomato slices.
Then: A gorgeous, large, moussey, cheesecakey concoction containing maple, caramel and brandy or rum and possibly coffee. Served with a piece of shortbread and cape gooseberries.
I'll round it off with a very big one of those liqueur coffees (whisky) in a glass with cream that you used to get in Berni Inns - just for old times' sake .
Re: Your Last Supper
I s’pose if it’s my last meal I could ignore the fact that oysters and I no longer agree I wonder if I could start my meal with half a dozen British natives … as long it could be guaranteed that the effects wouldn’t occur too soon …. what do you think … is it worth the risk folks?

Re: Your Last Supper
In that case I'll have mussels to start. I reckon with a decent pause between courses I'll manage the cheese too.
Re: Your Last Supper
I'll join in with a shellfish(molluscs) first course, which I couldn't normally have. I would love to try scallops.
We'll have to hope we don't get a stay of execution at the last minute!

Re: Your Last Supper
I think mine would be
Prawns and chorizo with baguette to soak up all the buttery, garlicky juices
Pork belly , potato dauphinoise, cider gravy and green veg
I ate at Michael Caines restaurant the other night , so my choice would be the dessert I had there , chestnut parfait with Ferrero Rocher ice cream

I've changed my mind - I want to eat here: https://www.theguardian.com/food/2021/n ... out-crowds
I haven't had a schnitzel since we stopped eating at M-i-L's around 30 years ago. She always cooked them when we went to visit, usually veal, sometimes pork, as well as mushrooms, and served them with a Russian potato salad made with tinned potatoes. She added oven chips for the kids, when they came along.
