Expensive? No! £3.99 from Aldi. Why pay more?

Why would I use it? This stuff is a mystery to me.
Re: Bargain Basement
It is a facial cleanser Miss Mouse, which removes all trace of make up and leaves my skin feeling soft and smooth. Having a sensitive skin, soap is rather drying.
I apologise for not making the product clearer.

I bought a set of 4 different "hot cloth" cleansers and a muslin cloth from Aldi a couple of months ago for my sister - £5.99!
Re: Bargain Basement
What a great price Pampy!
I always buy sensitive toothpaste which is about 75p from nearby Lidl. It does work well and the tube has stayed the same size over the years unlike the well-known makes.

Re: Bargain Basement
I didn't know that, Renee - what a bargain - and I've only just bought a tube of Colgate sensitive! It'll be on the list for next time I need toothpaste.

Re: Bargain Basement
I’ve been looking every time I’ve been in Lidl but they’ve never had any toothpaste all through lockdown here
I prefer a pump dispenser, as I make less mess, and I did get two of the new Sensodyne pumps on what I assume is an introductory offer, £3 for 100ml in Sainsbury’s, which works out at less than half the price per ml compared to the tubes. It’s a very good dispenser, no mess at all

Re: Bargain Basement
Pam, I usually buy three at a time of Lidl toothpaste, because I don't always call in there.
I used to like the pump dispensers and they take up less room than the tubes. The price is good in Sainsburys. Thanks Sue.

Went to put in our weekly order for Tesco and the Italian 00 flour is down to 18p.
It's on clearance so buy now or miss this bargain.

Re: Bargain Basement
Yes, definitely. They are discontinuing both the self-raising flour and 00 flour in this range from the Italian suppliers.

Re: Bargain Basement
00. All gone in my local Tesco, Binky.
But I did top up my self raising flour stash with a couple of 18p bags going cheap.

Re: Bargain Basement
Hello, I was wondering how to treat smoked salmon fillets, as a pose to sliced smoked salmon. They're on a 3 for £10 offer at Asda and thought I might give them a try.
Their normal price is £4.50.
What have you done with them?

Re: Bargain Basement
Do you mean the ordinary salmon which has been lightly smoked - like these? https://groceries.asda.com/product/salm ... ts/1373421
I buy it from Sainsburys sometimes. The Sainsburys ones are ready to eat (but the Asda ones aren't). They are delicious and only lightly smoked. I served them the other day (cut in half) when my friend had lunch here with prawns and slivers of proper smoked salmon but that was quite a treat. I like them with an interesting mixed salad, beetroot and a potato salad and a dill mayonnaise. That may sound a bit boring but I think it's lovely. I think I'd cook the Asda ones and have them cold!

Re: Bargain Basement
If we are talking about the same thing, one thing you shouldn't do is try to recook them. The ones I bought from my fishmonger - I should have asked him - were already cooked. I wouldn't have made stringy bootleather if I'd known
Mine were honey-glaze smoked I think, so (cold) would take a "heavy" side, e.g. the Thai radish, spring onion, garlic etc sort, rather than a creamy thing.
If you are talking about "must be cooked" salmon, my only thought would be to try to let it be the star with bland usual suspects.

I buy the raw lightly smoked salmon portions from Asda. A good idea to have them cold Em and now that the weather is becoming milder, they will be enjoyable with a mixed salad. Dill mayonnaise sounds very nice!

Sainsbury’s seem to have all the varieties of Lavazza coffee beans on offer at £3.50 per 250g
I stocked up on Espresso which is usually hard to source round here
