Re: Bargain Basement
That’s the one. A very refreshing non alcoholic drink.
Re: Bargain Basement
This isn’t a bargain at all, it’s the opposite. I was in Morrisons this morning and noticed, in passing, that the little packs of Lindor truffles, the ones with four in them, were £1, so I got one as a treat. When I opened it I found that there were no longer 4 in there, only three! How mean. I love Lindor, but am so cross with them now that it will be a long time till I get any more.

Re: Bargain Basement
Another Morrison's non-bargain (though I suspect Lindor is the same everywhere)
I tend to buy the sachets of Quaker (or Scot's) microwave porridge, as I don't eat porridge all that often but like to have it on hand
Noticed that Morrison's own were half the price, 10 for £1, no-brainer right?
Got them home and discovered the own brand are just oats, without the lecithin that stops the Quaker from boiling over. Even following the package instructions which involved stopping and stirring after 30 seconds, bowing three times to the east and four times to the west, praying to the great goddess Avena Sativa etc etc it did a fair impression of a volcano erupting
So most of it has been made in a pan on the stove and I have bought a big bag of Mornflake oats to do more porridge on the hob - microwave was handy when I was working as it could be left to its own devices while I brewed coffee or made lunch, but I don't need it now

Re: Bargain Basement
It’s really irritating, isn’t it. You don’t realise till you have got whatever it is home.
Re: Bargain Basement
Arghhh, yes it really is, Wic. I remember over on WF we had periodic moans about exactly that, selling less for the same price and in similar packaging so the consumer is absolutely taken in / for a ride
There is a word for it, but my senior moment is not allowing me to come up with it
Ah, googling helped, shrinkflation, that's it.

Re: Bargain Basement
Shrinkflation sounds almost respectable, doesn’t it. I was thinking of something rather ruder!

Re: Bargain Basement
If I can mention something that's not a bargain although useful if you buy cream in pots, now without a plastic lid It is an item for which a plastic cap is a necessity, not an extravagance, yet ironically the pot itself is still plastic...
So, Yeo organic double cream I've just bought does come with a plastic cap (to save of course) Lesser in amount than non-organic cream but worth it, speaking as someone who upset a pot without a lid and it running everywhere both inside and outside the fridge

It's such a disaster when that happen jeral. Thanks for the information about the Yeo Organic Cream.

Nothing to do with food or drink, but there seem to be a lot of us who do DIY. And I found this platform on offer. I've had one for years and it's really useful. If it's not a platform, it's a workbench...

Re: Bargain Basement
Thanks re platform, although I'm lightweight enough to be able to stand on a kiddie's bathroom stool It does look very stable though and definitely a bargain for something of that calibre
I just bought this sturdy dolly trolley because it has brakes which a lot don't. Not really a bargain price as it cost me £31.33 delivered, though will be as I'll get my use out of it. It rolls very easily, so I'm a happy bunny.

Although that is a good deal.

Oh! Don't! Cookies are evil.
My small granddaughter was being shown a piano app on an ipad. It's a free app and so it has a banner ad. One advert had a red spot at the end. Granddaughter touched it and brought up a page to "Very". For weeks after, I was plagued by online links to ladies wearing skimpy underwear...

Re: Bargain Basement
Aero, I opened the link for the platform at Wickes and I'm now plagued with large adverts for it when I go into another website!!
