Re: TV and Online Cooking Shows
There’s quite a lot of backlash against these kind of diet programmes over here Mark.

PP
Are they similiar to what are/were known as crash diets here in the states where you you can lose gobs and gobs of weight but then it slides right back on again. I remember those growing up.

Yep. I think diet programmes here are fairly strictly regulated. No magic answers or promises.
Re: TV and Online Cooking Shows
A big objection to this type of programme over here is because of the potential adverse impact on mental health.

This started last night and is her usual style. I remain unconvinced by banana skin curry however.

She said you wouldn't be able to tell it from aubergine .
Did you see how many fish fingers she had?

OH detests aubergine, so he'd probably think that old banana skins were a fitting substitute

Honestly there's not much I won't eat but I really don't think I'm going there.
Re: TV and Online Cooking Shows
If you did, you'd probably want to get organic bananas anyway! I have a feeling my sister does something "healthy" by boiling up whole bananas in their skins, and she will only use organic bananas.

Cheaper than pork, but hardly the same nutrients even if you made it work. I am curious now. It looked as though medium ripe bananas were best.

Freaky eaters
Found this quite by accident. From what I gather this is the BBC version and NOT the learning channel (TLC) version. I would stick with the original any day.
According to wiki, the UK series ran on BBC 3 from 2007 to 2009
