I love salmon/cream cheese moussey things but also struggle with Instagram :( . Does anyone know if the lobster tails with butter sold in Aldi, Iceland etc are any good? I'm doing traditional leftovers buffet (cooked especially!) on Boxing Day when the family come but really fancy easy and tasty lobster on Christmas Day.

Am pretty much sure both are good EM. I have friends who rave about Iceland, and others with Aldi. My freezer is always filled with rubbish so I don’t use either very often.

And it looked glorious Smitch but oldies like me need a proper written down recipe!

As an aside my niece is an assistant producer on Sunday Brunch. Apparently they all love Simon to bits. 8-) 8-) 8-)

Thanks Smitch. I can see pix on Instagram but, as PP says, it's just pix and no text to match - such as recipes or stockists of furniture/home decor. Is there a way to see such things?

The mousse thing looks nice, is the red outer part peppers?

Sorry not quite the same but the only difference would seem to be that in the recent recipe 200g of white crab meat replaces the poached salmon in the recipe link.

Thank you, ltc! It must have been very red salmon on the outside - or peppers!

You're welcome, I think it's smoked salmon.
I've made this one a few times and it's always worked well, I add some finely chopped capers to mix . It does use gelatine but holds really well so keeps it's shape if you don't use it all at once. https://www.greedygourmet.com/recipes-b ... n-terrine/. I've made a few things from this site and they've all worked.

Smoked Salmon & Crab Terrine with @fishsaidfred

Ingredients

600g good quality smoked salmon

For the filling

250g crème fraiche
500g cream cheese
Zest 1 lime
25g wasabi paste
200g hot smoked salmon
200g white crab meat
Tbsp dill
Tbsp chives
12 gherkins, cut into small rounds

To serve

Melba toast and more pickles

Method

First, line a 1.25ltr loaf tin with clingfilm and then do the same with the smoked salmon. If there's any left over, chop it into the filling.

For the filling, simply beat all the ingredients together by hand, except for the gherkins. Spoon half of the mixture into the tin, then add the gherkins, followed by the rest of the filling mix.

Wrap over the salmon, then the clingfilm and put a weight on top. Allow to chill overnight.

Cut the terrine into slices and serve with melba toast and pickles
