Eating out again …

Postby Suffs » Mon Sep 27, 2021 6:22 pm

Haven’t been in a restaurant in nearly two years … today we ate here https://porthmeor-beach.co.uk/, in a totally glass space overlooking the beach … this was our view

OMG it was the nearest thing to a spiritual experience I’ve had in a long time. It was my first proper meal out since before the first lockdown …. just a late lunch, so Mackerel on sourdough with lovely salad for OH, moules mariniere and crusty pain de campagne for me … a very good Grenache Sauv blanc, and then affogato… simple but very good indeed with perfect service. The sun came out, the surf was up, the view was great. I could’ve died happy 8-)

Sounds wonderful in every respect.
We are off to Anglesey (everything permitting) on Sunday.
I imagined leisurely lunches, local produce cooked in the evening...
I can't eat out, unless it's very soft and cut very small.
So I'll enjoy yours vicariously, suffs

How lovely, Suffs. The long break has certainly given us time to appreciate things to the max.

We were there early in the summer. Your lunch sounds wonderful!

The Seafood Cafe in the middle of St. Ives is also lovely, in case you’re there for a few days.

On your way home, you will pass within quarter of a mile from me!!
Trearddur Bay has reinvented itself in the last few years, eatery wise.

I've eaten out a fair amount, but nowhere nice as mainly very locally. We've not eaten well on any of the holidays we went on either.

My friend at work and I hope to go here:

https://sessionsartsclub.com/

Exactly the sort of food I crave. (And The Modern Pantry has gone, now.)

Not sure how easy it will be to get a table though after Grace Dent's review. (That woman...)

I went to a Burberry exhibition in the Old Sessions House after they had gutted it and beffore they hadned it over to developers. It was an unforgettable experience. I see they've not decorated much since... ;)

There is a roof-top pool.

We enjoyed it last night and have booked to go again on Thursday.
We leave here on Friday so we won't be popping in for a cup of tea SG, you can breathe easy again :thumbsup
