She is a goddess Gruney. What I’ve done so far is smelling wonderful. I just need the energy to finish the task!

It was because DD1 took it upon herself to clean my greasy bottles by the cooker. It sent water down the socket which went a bit mental and sent the second timer into meltdown.

So she says!

Is working now.

Have just put it in the oven but my back hurts so much I am reassured about my lack of daily cooking!

That sounds a really good dish . I love Nigella and have cooked quite a lot of her recipes . I think she is under appreciated sometimes as a cook because of how annoying people find her on screen persona .

Yes, I do, I must say, although that doesn't stop me from appreciating her recipes and ideas

Gosh, I love her to bits.

It was dead good but hard work following all those instructions. Pics on FB. Says it serves 6. I’m wondering for how many days! Certainly enough for tonight as well.

Wow, that's an epic recipe and an epic cooking session, PP. Glad the oven fan fixed itself - could have been a total nightmare! but sounds like it ended up a big success.

I'm another Nigella mannerism-disliker but I read through the recipe and it looks as interesting as it's convoluted - some really interesting ways to enhance the ingredient groups. Might try it sometime, for a crowd. Thanks for the sharing the saga :D Is there a link to the pics?

I’ve seen Nigella talking live to an audience, in a fairly small venue, and she was lovely, very nice to the nervous person she was “in conversation” with, no mannerisms at all.

I think the mannerisms have become a bit tongue in cheek as she has got older and more confident, cf mee-cro-wah-vay

Totally agree SS & PP I think she is wonderful. Her recipes are usually good and I really enjoy her writing, you can tell she is foremost a writer.

I saw pictures on FB PP, it looked amazing. :yum
I love Nigella's books and recipes but I'm not keen on watching her. I can imagine she comers over very differently off camera.
My sister follows her on Twitter and during the first lock down she tweeted about a recipe she was trying for the first time if she could get the ingredients. Sis was very surprised to get a private tweet from Nigella suggesting if subs if she couldn't get x,y,z to use instead and let her know how she got on. My sister was very impressed by this and now Nigella can do no wrong in her eyes!

The dish looked great on FB PP. You're clearly enjoying cooking for the family!
I have to admit that if I didn't know a little of Nigella's history I would assume she was all fancy celeb with no substance. Of course, she's anything but and I admire her greatly.

Kacey wrote:Feta also bakes well in the oven, I usually bake it with finely chopped chilli, tomato and onion, that would stir nicely through a bowl of pasta.

I tried this yesterday. I baked the feta with red onion, tomatoes, a little red pepper and garlic sprinkled with olive oil and dried oregano. Baked it for 30mins at 180C then stirred through pasta shells with a little tomato sauce, pesto and pasta cooking water. It was gorgeous. Thanks Kacey.

It must be torture filming with permanent jaw ache from the fixed smile! People who find Nigella irritating to watch should see the Ronni (Somebody) parody on Youtube, which I think Nigella started to mimick in good spirit after that :D

New to me was making smoked mackerel & potato croquette patties. Very bland with not enough mustard and black pepper to taste really, so another version with chilli methinks next time that might still not be wow but should have more oomph.

Horseradish is good with smoked mackerel, if you like it.
