I wasn't thrilled when I tried them.

The meal plan which they’ve emailed suggests Kalette and Quinoa Sushi, which sounds like a seventies double act. I can’t get quinoa or sushi past him either. I think I may give them to my elder daughter who is coming to help me out on Tuesday. She has more mouths to feed.

I've had kalettes - like others have said, ok but nothing special.

They're not what I thought they were at all. I haven't ever seen any.

Kalette and Quinoa Sushi sounds horrible.

I like them, but they are what they are, nothing different, nothing special.

But then again, I like most green veg. Raw, too :)

DD grows kalettes ... they really like them ... she says they taste like mild Brussels sprouts and on my limited experience I’d say she’s right.

They are a cross between Brussels sprouts and kale so I'd expect them to have some taste of sprouts. I've seen them in Booths today - they were labelled as "Flower Sprouts".

Oh now I know what you mean! I've seen flower sprouts but didn't realise they were the same thing.

I don't think I've ever even seen kalettes, when I first saw it I thought they were a type of pancake!

Popcorn is definitely overrated, I always end up choking on it.

I discovered a great way of using Kale yesterday.

I had made a (pea and asparagus) risotto in the Instant Pot a couple of days ago and put a large portion of kale on the top (on a high trivet) so I knew it would be well cooked.

Yesterday I re-fried a portion of the risotto and added a portion of the kale too and to wet the mixture up, I added 2/3 tablespoons of the pickling vinegar from a tub of rollmops ... Well, I was blown away by the taste :yum :yum :yum

Haha! Matthew Fort on tonight’s GBM “Finals week”. Not a fan of kalettes.

I've given up watching GBM - all too fussy-fussy for me.

I'm really enjoying it although I can't stand Rachel Khoo.

So am I, it seems less aggressive than previous years although one group were which wasn't good viewing until they mellowed a bit. I too find Rachel Khoo irritating.

I like the cooking bits but it's a case of style over substance sometimes.
Just give me a plate of excellent, innovative food.
I don't want it served in a box or whatever.

I'm enjoying this series. I only watch the judging programmes, not the whole week (except this week which is all judging!). They seem to have outgrown stupidity this year and are generally serving innovative but nice food.
I think all the judges can be irritating at times and like Rachel Khoo more than I thought I would.

I caught a programme the other week and wondered why no-one seems to like Rachel Koo ... as she did/said nothing to offend me :? I loved her Little Paris Kitchen series and would have watched her chocolate series if it had sub titles, but they don't seem available on Food Network :(

She is irrationally annoying, she has ghastly Greg's gurning trick. I expect that she is nice in real life, no idea, never met her.
