Buttercream made with icing sugar and unsalted butter
Re: "Food Pairings Dominoes" 2
Unsalted butter is recommended for cheese toasties, the sort you butter on the outside to crisp up when grilled, so salty cheese.

Garlic chives treated like wild garlic and pushed inside a whole chicken prior to roasting.
Re: "Food Pairings Dominoes" 2
Whole chicken, done the lemony way, with lemony butter tucked under the skin and extra to blather on, e.g.:

So, lemon(s).
---
PS: I was tempted to respond with "beer butt chicken" as it intrigues me. Has anyone ever made it (and without blowing up their kitchen...)?

Lemon in a gin and tonic of course
Re: "Food Pairings Dominoes" 2
Gin pairs well with blueberries and there are plenty of drinks ideas around, but not much food, although there used to be a gin and fresh mussel recipe floating about. I tried a similar one with vodka instead but it was nothing to write home about.
There is a gin & tonic cream pie, said to have gone viral in 2016; in 2017 an updated lemon version was devised.
However, gin people might like the trifle below which looks fun to eat, plus the alcohol isn't cooked off
Well let's face it, you'd have to be a gin fan to use, maybe thought of as waste, gin when adding junipers would match the flavour aspect.
I like the idea of cinnamon & vanilla in the custard to compliment the blueberries too:

NB: Be sure to scoff a couple of trifles before attempting to flick hot golden syrup around the kitchen for the spun sugar basket Plus save a trifle for breakfast for Dutch courage for when you see the mess you made the night before...

Shall I pick up from cinnamon for the domino, and use it as a swizzle stick in mulled cider or apple juice?
