Sounds delicious Rocky. I made this few weeks ago using lamb steaks, slightly faffy but very tasty https://www.bbc.co.uk/food/recipes/lamb ... _pea_87797 , we're having lamb tomorrow too. I'm not sure if it will be steaks, a small joint or shanks I'll see what's left in the freezer later.
DS2 returns today and my sister is coming round for dinner, I'm cooking cheesy, chilli pork burgers based on an Ainsley Harriott receipe for meatballs.

Finally eaten something interesting enough to post ….

Pulled pork without the ubiquitous BBQ sauce with it , smoky black beans, avocado , broccoli, tomatoes , toasted new and sweet potatoes and two perfectly poached eggs .

Simple, fairly light food tonight.
J has been working away most of the last month and he's fancying something different.
I had king prawns in the freezer which I had cleaned a couple of weeks ago then realised I had too many.
I fried them quickly then took them out again and gently softened spring onion and garlic in olive oil.
Cooked a panfull of tagliatelle and stirred through the prawns, spring onion and garlic plus smoked salmon and crème fraiche.
Plenty of pepper and a glass of picpoul.

He seemed to enjoy it.
Not much talking and an empty plate.

We made salmon and pancetta arancini with tomato and basil sauce this evening, using leftovers. We baked them for 15 minutes and finished them in a hot shallow pan with some oil. The photo is a bit rubbish and they look pale in this photo, they were actually deliciously crunchy!

Breakfast tomorrow will be smoothies, yoghurt and cinnamon toast.

Your dinner looks lovely Amy. Nice sounding lamb and prawn pasta dishes too.

Coffee eclair to follow :)

Salmon and pancetta Arancini sound like a lovely combo OMCO. Dinner at work tonight , chicken roasted with garlic butter , marmite roast potatoes , honey glazed carrots , peas, sprouts , cauliflower cheese and homemade Yps and gravy . The guys ate their tea very quickly and silently , which is usually a good sign :bounce:

I always think September onwards , sprouts are OK. I love sprouts and think they’re at the best steamed with a little black pepper

That looks very good, AmyW :yum :yum.

It used to be said that sprouts shouldn't be picked until after the first frost for the best flavour but I think crops might have changed nowadays now that sprouts are grown to be small (I love the big ones). I bought some the other day (small ones) and they were lovely.

Gorgeous looking food OMCO and Amy :yum
Roast lamb ended up being postponed until today as DS2 got caught up helping DS1 and they ended up ordering pizza so they could work on and get the job finished. I ended up having a steak & haggis pie from the freezer with a baked spud, mushrooms and corn cobette.

I think the frost dealt with the bitterness of them which has now been bred out of them.

I'm not a fan of frozen sprouts, cabbage or broccoli. Don't mind frozen cauliflower though.

We had a four course lunch today - tomato and pepper soup, courgette gratin and stuffed mushrooms, a cheese course, then chocolate tart, so not really wanting much for dinner.

I had some left over potato so am having a very small and simple gratin of potatoes, smoked garlic, creme fraiche and emmental. OH just had bread and cheese.

I made my leftover ps stuffed squash mentioned on another threads
I halved the squash, removed the seeds and baked while the oven was on for something else, the cavities seemed huge, very thin flesh

Next day I scooped out the flesh, mixed with my oversize portion of veg bolognaise, seasoning and some crumbs as it seemed a bit wet. Put back in the shells, topped with crumbled feta and baked
Made 3 portions, so careful division was required, there was more flesh than I first thought

Tonight I did a traybake, chicken marinated with Encona hot sauce and garlic, courgette and a small yellow pepper plus some of that frozen readymade cauliflower cheese, shan’t bother with that when the pack is finished. It’s ok but not very cheesy and it takes ages to cook, I was hoping it would be an easy way of making more of a meal is something.

The squash sounds something that would be lovely brought to the table to show off, Sue. I agree about the packet cauliflower cheese. A great idea which doesn't really work. it's been around a while so someone must like it!

Nothing interesting here as usual. Amy's roast pic led me to heating up some of my cooked chicken slices in gravy (for a rtc very small chicken it has been very bountiful, there's still some more left) and had with assorted veg. Very nice (roast pots and YP would have been even better but really not necessary!).
