Sorry, I did too. It seems pretty standard here (even though it took me a while to learn/remember the meaning!).

No problem Rocky (and others)! For some reason, I always associate RTC with ready to cook, rather than short-life products!

YS is another one I see quite a lot on another group - aka "Yellow stickered" for reduced items.
A "here's one I made earlier" from the freezer for us tonight - lamb jalfrezi. Just need to sort out some rice later.

'yellow stickered' wouldn't make me think of a reduced item - the colours i see most often are either orange or red!

Me neither but I suppose it depends where you shop, I think the Asda one's are yellow but I'm not sure.

Sainsburys and Waitrose are yellow.
I bought sausages and rolls to make something resembling hot dogs for lunch as GD was coming but they are now in the freezer as she's coming afterwards . Expecting to have cauliflower cheese and bacon later. I bought an 'imperfect' cauliflower again. It was 69p. The identical 'perfect' ones were 79p.

re last night's chaat masala polenta and gram chips, they were rather nice. Cripsy on the outside and soft and fluffy on the inside and pleasantly spicy. Very easy to make (but a bit hard on the arm with all the strenuous whisking involved).
The recipe really made rather a lot. I only baked half the mixture, and the chips were all we needed for dinner. (Although husband didn't eat many as (said) he wasn't hungry.)

Did you bake them, rather than deep fry them? I must say, they look very tasty, although I've never even come across chaat masala, I'm ashamed to say

Yes, baked.
I had bought the chaat masala form something else ages ago, can't remember what, and of course didn't use, so handy. Could have been for these, of course...

I bought rtc (and yellow stickered!) sausages in Waitrose yesterday, always pleasing when you find stuff that was on the list anyway. Now in the freezer, one pack are “chorizo style” so I think a casserole with butter beans will be their fate, I could smell them all the way home on the bus.
Tonight was miso roasted veg and a chicken leg rubbed with a slightly random spice mix and baked. Nice. Leftovers to do something with.

Just been reading back and have saved the chicken and squash recipe from SG. Looks fab.
Lots of other lovely sounding, and looking, food.
Reduced stickers are also yellow in Tesco.

Sounds lovely SG.
I had an almond croissant for breakfast. A few chocolates and fruit after a gym class and a swim.
We had a house full of kids this evening for end of term fun. We did help yourself bowls of noodles, rice, 2 different bowls of stir fried veg, salmon fillets, lime wedges, coriander, peanuts, lots of sauces and dips. They had fun creating/competing for the best flavour combinations. Just fruit for dessert.

Sorry, end of term? We haven’t got to half term here
Re: What's everyone cooking this week? 2
I had rather a meat (and carb) heavy day yesterday. I had a work lunch and had steak tartare and fries. For dinner we finally had the ribeye steak (just one between us) which we had, at OH’s request, with leek and bacon risotto (sliced on top). I nailed the risotto if I do say so myself!
We are at friends in Buckinghamshire for dinner so who know what that will be. We have half a quiche so suspect that may be lunch.

I was at a friend's yesterday and we ordered Indian "tapas" which was very good.
Easy option tonight of Tesco Finest burgers from the freezer with salad and homemade wedges.

I have just removed from the freezer 2 megrim for Sunday lunch tomorrow, they need using up. Will probably M'wave them and serve with noodles and veg.

Umm, it's Saturday!
I am going to do something with leftover chicken and roast veg, a kind of gratin I think
I had my eggs and chips last night, very good
Re: What's everyone cooking this week? 2
Oh Eggs & Chips! One of my absolute favourites. Anna Jones Cheats Lasagne is in the oven, going to have an early dinner then out for a few beers.
