Sadly I can't get on with fish and tomato.
Yep, I know I'm weird.

Eldest has chosen tonight's dinner...we're having sausages in giant shop bought yorkshire puddings, a load of veg and gravy. No arguments from the rest of us on that choice.
Lunch will be soy and sesame aubergine with some mushrooms, noodles and coriander.

Desperately trying to make more space in the freezer for forthcoming sausage rolls etc, so tonight's supper will be the second half of a Shin of Beef and Beer casserole from a few weeks ago. I've peeled some potatoes and carrots to mash together, and I'll take yet more runner beans out of the freezer.

As the dal is soaking, we will be able to have the dal makhani I failed at yesterday.
Served with rice and Madhur's Gujarati green beans.

I like fish with tomato as long as it's white fish less keen with oily unless it's pilchards.
Inspired by recent posts by suffs tonight it's cauliflower cheese with a baked spud.

I was away at the weekend and had cod baked in tomato sauce . Wasn’t blown away by it . I like roasted cherry tomatoes alongside salmon or sea bass , but a tomato sauce doesn’t really work for me either

Cheese sauce tonight - I joined Suffs and LTC at the cauliflower cheese party, yum
I’m never sure about tomato with salmon, but of course canned fish often come in tomato sauce, and there are classic, mainly Mediterranean, dishes of fish and tomato - Greek plaki for example, Catalan fish stew, and my haddock is a variant on a Portugaise. And fish fingers are good with ketchup! So it seems pretty average to me

I often think I don't like tomato sauce (I don't mean ketchup) with certain things but when served it I usually do. I rarely use ketchup but am quite keen on it with cottage pie for some reason.
Last night I stuffed a piece of butternut squash with assorted pre-sauteed vegetables to which a little garlic had been added with mixed nuts and cubes of smoked cheese. It was delicious.

Me too
I'm not a ketchup fan though do use it as an ingredient in various things and to clean my copperware!
Your stuffed BNS sounds delicious EM.
Rinse and repeat for me today with more cauliflower cheese tonight.

I don’t mind ketchup but not something I often have . Trying to think of where I use it , probably just bacon or fish finger sandwiches , sometimes scrambled egg on toast and occasionally chips , though I prefer mayo with chips/fries

I quite like baked cod with tomatoes and chorizo. Or pasta with crab/prawns and tomatoes. I will happily accept mayo or ketchup with a fish finger!
Anyway, tonight we are cooking a lamb shank feast with harissa yoghurt, pomegranate, cucumber, pickled chillies, soft peppers from a jar, watercress and either some kind of potato dish or flat bread.
We keep buying cheese but not eating any, so we may have a small cheese and fruit platter afterwards if we have room.
Re cheese I haven't used our camembert baker for months so I might buy some for over the weekend. I'm thinking with some smoked garlic poked in the top and drizzled with some cinnamon honey before baking.

Edit…I made salt, pepper and chilli chips to go with the pulled lamb and various sides. Absolutely delicious

Sounds completely delicious!
We are trying to eat the freezer down to put Christmas stuff in (only finding out we are hosting Christmas last weekend). So last night was an ‘emergency’ freezer pizza. It was actually quite nice - a taste the difference salami one. Tonight is fish pie with ALL the fish from the freezer…..

I try to make Thursdays easy as GD comes and we eat early. Last night I put a chicken in the slow cooker and we had it with sauteed potato cubes, carrots, sprouts and gravy made with the juice. So quick and easy! I had made jelly with fruit set in it for pud.

Felicity's caldo verde tonight, stuffed with cavolo nero as it seems my iron level is slightly low.
