I've heard good things about Schnitzel Forever, but not been since for most of its life I've been unable to eat most of what's of what's on the menu, would like to try soon
Jay's not the only person who has spotted that it might be the pilot for a small chain of neighbourhood restaurants, Rocky and KC2 watch out for one coming near you!

Those premises used to be the much loved Sam's Singapore-Malaysian, this looks like the first really good successor

I love a schnitzel, what’s not to like? Sounds like a really good neighbourhood joint.

I've just been reading about an exhibition at the Museum of Brands based on this year's The Grocer top 100 food brands in the UK so had to look up the list. It's old news as it was published last spring but I found the top 100 quite interesting. I had to look up a couple and the position of some others astounded me. Lockdowns made a difference as habits changed.

Glad to see Charlie Bigham’s up there. They are very good indeed. Pricey but worth every penny.

I was surprised to see them there PP. They come across as a sweet little independent cottage industry - but clearly aren't even if they were once! Amazed that enough people can afford them to make them so popular.

Yep re Waitrose, but they've spread much further now and still seem to be doing well. Good for them.

Love the Christmas tasting food article. Amazing what rigorous R&D these products go through before being crushed in one article .

The last par of the review, for the Heinz Christmas soup, is rather damning, as are all other reports I've seen of it. Heinz must be pleased it was only a limited edition, and they won't be left with unsold stock.

Going back to the brands I was intrigued by how few of them I buy. Also a bit sad that there were two brands of plastic bottled mineral water in there, few people in this country need to buy bottled water routinely, especially when wfh

The Christmas flavoured things piece was hilarious, I don’t buy stuff like that generally and I am not tempted except possibly by the gyoza. I have an ongoing argument with the local deli who seem to have a policy of not stocking the plain / salted variant of snacks, they stock New York pita chips but not the plain which are the only ones I want, to eat with dips which may clash with the flavouring

Yes. I think I might try the gyoza.

I fancied the gyoza. Gyoza have just arrived in Cyprus, avoid the Lidl variety, all you can taste is chili.

I wondered how many will end up at your Food Bank Suelle and whether they would be welcome.

I find most Heinz Big Soups quite palatable and am surprised at the bad reviews as it sounds as though it would be alright (for what it is). I'm wondering if it really is nasty or whether its snobbery. It's a bit outside the dietary guidelines I'm trying to follow but I'm tempted, just to see.

Ooh, you've just posted about chocolate and orange tart, PP! I'm that one person in the universe who dislikes the combination of chocolate and orange.

No, you're not the only one - I don't like chocolate and orange either! Always gave me headaches when I tried it.

When I was a little girl I had an aunt who reckoned that if you mixed chocolate and orange and then sat with with your back to the fire you would be sick . . . .

I’m fine with chocolate and orange, less keen on chocolate and mint, though I don’t mind the occasional after dinner mint

Chocolate and mint, eeeooouuuufff, thus lots more for the rest of you while I scoff the choc'n'orange.
