Is this the tomato pie recipe you were looking for Herbi?

That looks good, I guess it’s the one Herbi wanted but certainly going on my list

Must try Kewoie mayo again, I seem to member disliking the texture

Panzanella. (His sounds much nicer than any I've had).

That tomato pie looks 'interesting'. Both mayo or buttermilk are questionable to me but I would love to hear anyone's verdict who cares to make it.

My guess is that the mayo disappears as it does in crab cakes

I don't think I've ever used mayo as an ingredient. I shall have to try.

My mum always puts a large tablespoon of Mayo in fish pie.

Chicken divan - basically chicken and broccoli in a sauce made of condensed soup and Mayo, sounds dire but pretty good, and the mayo is not obvious

Yikes :o

I will be eschewing all bitter members of the marrow family - the reason I don't eat raw courgettes is because I used to find those with fuzzy skins unpleasantly bitter, slightly mouth puckering, but they seem to grow different varieties now, merely tasteless when raw

It's something that's cropped up on the GW forum regularly over the past few years ... it seems to be down to more 'open pollinated' crops being used for seed ........ whether or not this will change with different seed import regulations post Brexit we shall wait to see.

However the results from eating these 'cross-bred' courgettes, whether raw or cooked, can be quite dire and I've heard of folk being hospitalised. The tip is to slice the end of a courgette from each plant at the beginning of cropping and test it on your tongue ... if it does not taste acrid then it and all its siblings will be fine to eat.

Does that work for the ones we buy in the shops?

Eek indeed, a big one.

Thank you for the Australian MC Quiz, PP. it has finished there but the recordings on our system are a bit behind. I belong to their FB page, it is heavily moderated, my explanation as the why MC UK was "so dull" was rapidly removed, my reason was that there was not such a large budget.

Uschi, I love the photo of your Oma and her sister.

The advantage of being a greedy guts is that I tend to nibble as I prepare veg, so a dodgy one probably wouldn't creep into the ratatouille

as for the aussie masterchef quiz -

You got...
6/10
Good one! You’re a pretty committed member of the MasterChef army; you’ve even tried your hand at some of the recipes when they get posted on the homepage. Even though you’d never admit it, you secretly lust over the MasterChef branded saucepans at the supermarket.

i've never watched it - not one episode - never made any of the recipes (wherever they are) and have no idea what their pans are like.
i rarely watch the uk versions - the sight of greg wallace scraping a fork through his teeth makes my skin crawl.

I’ve never watched an episode either! Aussie or any other!
