Sympathy, a heavy cold is miserable.

baked two malt loaves in a solar (box) cooker today - https://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/sticky-malt-loaves. it's a really good, easy recipe.
the loaves are meant to be wrapped and left for a few days as they'll get stickier. they may not last long enough for that - they're a bit sticky already.
of course it was a longer, lower temperature cook but it was a lower temperature bake anyway, which was why it was made. it'll definitely be done again - maybe tomorrow if the sun does its bit.
my quick mix fruit cake will be made tomorrow for the sun to cook anyway/as well.

My memory isn’t good, but is that similar to the way Soreen loaves are baked? They were on tv 2-3 months ago (I don’t like them, and only buy them for the grandchildren)

I take no credit. Just happened to discover Sue Lawrence’s wonderful recipe. Sue was a Masterchef winner and she and Joan knew each other well.

And here's St Delia's Chunky Apple Cake ... I didn't have any light brown sugar so used dark brown sugar and a bit of ordinary granulated sugar instead.

Looking good KC2.

Your Blueberry & Polenta cake reminded me why I bought a bag of frozen Blueberries, shame I used them to make muffins, never mind I'll just have to get another bag.

I made two different kinds of meringues last night (plain white ones and dark chocolate ones) and they came out well. They only need 100 °C, so they might work for a solar oven?

I was joking about the petite bit, had to remove a fridge shelf to fit it in :bounce:
