This is site specific, because whist v good indeed anywhere, if you are on a canal boat, a bacon and sausage sandwich with a coffee first thing in the morning as the mist rises gently off the water and you are chugging through the countryside before the rest of the world gets up, also comes close to the top of my All Time Favourites Spectrum.
As long as you´re not in North Carolina, right, Wic?

Wic
I believe down by the waterways is the only time I prefer a drink of tea, to a cup of coffee in this country.

After a curry, and after a bacon sandwich, for me there is nothing to match a cup of tea. Coffee doesn't really seem to go with either.
Here's some of my all-time favourite comfort foods:
Chinese Crispy Roast Pork (Sunflower's recipe is great)
Keema Mutter (Mamta's recipe is fab)
Cajun Chicken Gumbo (my recipe is from a Ch4 book, "Food File")
Ma Po's Tofu (Fuchsia Dunlop's recipe slightly modified)
I dare not make crispy pork, as it is finished before it has even cooled down and is of course 99.9% fat...

It's only slightly off topic therefore to mention that I always fancy a cup of tea
