blackberries
They are ready!
I used to pick them at Wimbledon when in London.
In the Cotswolds, there are several places.
Nice and safe in my homemade basket.
I'll be making apple and blackberry pie later.
And jam with the squishy ones.

Gill The Painter,
The northern Costa Brava is renowned for their blackberries and my mom and grandmothers prepare amazing blackberry preserves ..
Gil,
Definitely amazingly fabulous news !!
Still quite warm here .. So harvest shall take place a bit later in September ..
I truly enjoy eating them straight from the bushels my dad brings back ..
Have a lovely evening .. I shall ask my mom what else she does with Blackberries .. I believe she uses them with freshly hunted game too ( pheasant or partridge and / or wild duckling ).

2) Pheasant with blackberries, apples and juniper berries ..
3) Goat milk Panacotta or Goat Milk Ricotta & Blackberry Jam or Preserves ..
4) Porc Medallions with black berry chutney ..

As mentioned I like the right off the tree, washed of course ! And the preserves for my Croissant !!

Re: blackberries
Funnily enough I picked blackberries on Friday with my mum. We said there seems to be a lot around and whether children have just don’t pick them anymore which is a shame . Also how it’s mad when people pay for them in the supermarket when they’re so abundant .
Am making a crumble with apples tonight, one of my favourite puddings . I’ve also made a sauce to have with duck before - stock, red wine, shallot and I think I added some thyme in with the blackberries

Re: blackberries
Ooo nice one, Amy. I do prefer shallot to onions in a jus.
It looks as though not one has been picked yet from the hedgerows. We are going back next week.
Tony put his pickings in a bag, that crushed and squished. I told him not to.
Did somebody mention blackberry vodka. That's a super idea Wordsworth. I'll make it gin, as we've got about 10 bottles in the shed.
Blackberry gin and tonic at Christmas. I bet that's nayce.
Thank your family for the lovely ideas Member 461.
Port and blackberry sauce with varying accompaniments will be made with next week's hoard.

Bramble and apple pie or crumble Mmm. Other desserts could be cheesecake or Pavlova, or a swirl in ice cream.
Chutney for strong cheese or pork pie? There are many recipes on the Net but I know nothing about jam making.
There are also lots of recipes for blackberry-glazed salmon (ginger in some). Who'da thunk it?

Salad idea, Gill:
Freshly sliced cooked beetroot, goat cheese and lentil salad, with a blackberry "coulis" - sort of a thick vinaigrette!

A nice cooly vinaigrette, that's a grand one.
I'll get that prepared this week, and should be able to keep it in the fridge. I've got a bottle of olive oil mixed with vinegar on the side, ready to make single use salad dressings.
Hi Jeral. Ginger and blackberries. Super lovely - a plan for next week's batch pickings.
How is the roof of your mouth after the crumble, Amy?
Well, jam is on this morning.
And Bombay Blackberry Gin is on its way to "brewing" for Christmas. Which reminds me, I must get that Christmas thread started nice n early ......
