The great British baking show.....
Or that is how it is known here in the States. Not sure who sold out quicker...PBS or the BBC. I saw the opening of the show and that was used as part of the graphics I threw up.
This was on the front page of today's Daily express.
The article.......
So he maybe a little or alot brisk...he like simon cowell does offer criticism. As mum said before she died, some people are way too sensitive. Gordon used to screams at staff till he throat would bleed. But there was a reason for it. If you cant take criticism , find something else to do.

Mark, that man's voice is too squeaky to be scary.
Sorry to hear about your mum, if I'm right, she's passed fairly recently has she?
If not, I'm still sorry.

Re: The great British baking show.....
I would love to see a deliberately cruel edit of an episode with all their nastiest jibes!!! But then I suppose it is Reality TV, which of course has no actual bearing on reality.

There was a very old baking show they showed on Good Food that featured a young James Martin, and a young Paul Hollywood

Re: The great British baking show.....
It seems that ALL reality TV shows have a good guy and a bad guy. Ramsay is no where near as vicious as he often appears on TV - according to real friends who have actually worked with him. A perfectionist? Yes. Totally obsessed with the perfect dish - not the slap, bang, wallop of JO´s Swedish Chef impersonations.
On Spanish Masterchef, there´s a young guy called Jordi Cruz. Some of his comments reduce the participants to tears; and I think they might do the same to me if I were there.
On Argentine Masterchef, there´s a French born chef whose put-downs are withering. Make you want to crawl into a hole and die.
But I suppose that´s what " Reality TV" is all about.
I read in the paper this morning that Gordon Ramsay has offered a free apprenticeship to a young bloke who suffers from dwarfism - he´s only 3ft 1" tall. He applied to a culinary programme in Gloucester, to become a trained cook, and they refused him on the grounds of being a liability in the kitchen. Ramsay said: "I utterly despise discrimination of this kind; any discrimination, in fact. So he can come and work for me, free of charge. If he´s motivated, that´s enough".
( Well something like that!)

Re: The great British baking show.....
That's a local story, Clive.
I was listening on the radio, and the mother was truly miffed at the constant put downs her son was getting through his life.
The college backtracked, and said he was never told he would get under others feet, and he still has a place.
The little liars!
I'm so please to hear Rambo has stepped up to help the young man.
My "be still my beating heart" was always for Michael Barry.
He was like a ballet dancer when cooking on the TV. Effortless viewing.

I still have his cookbook somewhere - can't think what it's called right now - bit it was BIG & lots of pics of his jolly face - he was a very calm cook - very laid back - whatever happened to him?

RIP Michael. You were a good un.
It's either Rachel Koo, or Delia.

Re: The great British baking show.....
It's got to be Delia!!!!! Just kidding, honest!
Now I love James Martin and apart from his looks, I like the fact that he's down-to-earth and I love his humour. I'm still sad that he left Saturday Kitchen, but I can understand his reasons why.
