Thank you for posting this colder weather recipe .. Has a lovely Italian Twist !!
My French mom in law makes a dish which is slightly similar, however, has its nuances and here are the ingredients:
1 Kilo or 1.5 kilos of Beef Rump or similar
2 tblsps Extra virgin olive oil
100 grams bacon lardoons
200 or 250 grams of wild mushrooms or White caps sliced into quarters
50 grams butter ( French - 82% fat )
3 bay leaves
2 tblsps. red wine vinegar
3 tblsps of San Marzano tomato paste
2 cups of Beef broth from home made beef stock
1 / 2 cup red wine of choice
salt and black freshly ground pepper
2 onions ( large sliced into arcs or rings )
2 Cloves minced garlic
Freshly minced parsely and a swig of fresh rosemary
Have a wonderful evening ..
