As of 432pm ET, the site is available again....go figure
Re: Anyone else see this at Jamie's website
That looks like an easier "Captcha" than some (on my monitor). Is it not TdaEch? You have to use upper/lower case as shown. You can normally ask for another if you can't make head nor tail of the first one presented.
That said, if I go to jamieoliver.com I just get a blank page (no response), yet going to "recipes" etc takes me there with no problem. I'm not trying to register or sign in though.
There was an interesting item on the TV, whereby in audio some heard Yanni and others Laurel. I know what I clearly and only hear - what do you all hear? (30 second video):

So did I, both on the TV and my computer. I was wondering who hears Yanny. A report said some hear sounds in a higher register, Laurel being the lower one. They used to say that of teenagers, hence a plan once to put "high" noises in doorways where teens collect, so they didn't. What we need is the proverbial child of two years.
mark111757, it dawned on me that if Jamie's system was down in some way, then it wouldn't have recognised whatever you typed in, so them not you

I am in my mid to late forties and definitely hear Yanny!

I hear yeral!
(And I'm as old as my tongue and a little bit older than my teeth!)

I'm nearly 50.
(OK, I'm 55 )
And hear Laurel.

Undecided as to whether I hear yammy or yarry...
Definitely not "laurel", but I have dodgy ears anyway.
There's an online test for colour vision which is my forte (having spent many years marking up colours for print), where my colour vision is 99%. Sad about the normal vision though, which gets poorer daily, after a childhood of 20/20 vision

Interesting Sakkarin. I wear hearing aids and it was only when I wasn't wearing them that I heard "yeral" - when I first listened to it a few days ago, I was wearing them and I just heard "laurel". Not sure what that indicates though.
Re: Anyone else see this at Jamie's website
I think it indicates that my hearing is fairly OK, Pampy!

There was a dispute about a year ago about the colour of a dress a star wore on the red carpet. (Discussed here as Petronius is also a colour guru.) I thought it was probably due to one's monitor settings if viewed online and home shopping websites always put a colour disclaimer in, so interesting that "your" test is an online one.
Daylight changes things though. I have a very old crystal (I presume) cigar ashtray with an octagonal carve which is purple during the day and turquoise in artificial light. (As you'll know, crystal is rare now and non-existent for drinking glasses due to lead content.)
