Puff pastry and pizza dough recall

Postby liketocook » Tue Jan 11, 2022 1:02 pm

Products across many supermarkets with certain dates have been recalled due to salmonella fears https://www.food.gov.uk/news-alerts/ale ... in-02-2022

Thank you. I think I’m safe, I’ve checked, and double checked.

Bumping for others.

I bought some puff pastry in Tesco yesterday and it was the last roll of "Jus-Roll". There was no Tesco own brand on the shelf.

I went back today to ask after my lost hearing aid, and while there, I went to buy another roll. The shelf was empty, with a note that they hoped to get some tomorrow. Also lots of empty spaces on the veg shelves.

OH reports plenty of fresh veg in Wrose this morning ... so presumably empty shelves in your Tesco are due to a delivery glitch rather than a general shortage of supply Will :crossed

I'm finding huge gaps in Sainsburys at the moment but they fill eventually.

With regard to product recalls, I don't follow the official website but see them mentioned on social media sometimes. It seems endless. Its not only worrying for those with allergies etc, sometimes 'foreign bodies' seem to have got into products from machinery etc. Although they'll be removed from shelves, some will already have been sold.

There has definitely been a shortage of the ready made pastry and pizza dough - after LTC alerted us to the recall I have been unable to get any Asda own-brand and even the jus-roll seems to be unavailable now as well.

aero, ANY LUCK WITH THE LOST HEARING AID ?

I spent the morning looking around the three car parks I went to and asked in all the stores next to where I parked, and no sign of it. No debris on the road either.

So I've had to order a new one. That's a quick £50. :( But that's still 1/60 of what my DiL paid for her set from Specsavers.

Her "top of the range" aids were £3000! They are adjusted from an app on her phone, and the bluetooth link means that phone calls go straight to the hearing aids. They have settings for different environments - indoors, indoors in a crowd, concert, outdoors, etc. about a dozen of those.
