Mark - you are certainly finding some shows there! I'm afraid if they're not on our mainstream TV I won't usually seek them out but some look good.

Stanley Tucci is saved to watch at some point. I saw most of Marcus Waring. I tend to class him as a bit smarmy these days. I'll reserve judgement about the programmes. It seemed a little sanitised for real farm life.

I think I read somewhere that his idea was to have a smallholding but that the children have fallen in love with all the animals so they’ve become pets!

I caught a couple of early episodes the other day .... the one where their parents were invited into the canteen had me choking with laughter.

What really does annoy me though is the canned laughter that is turned on after almost every sentence, so whoever is speaking has to pause to carry on talking and that spoils the continuity :thumbsdown

Why producers think that we need canned laughter is beyond me - it's either funny or it's not.... :roll: :evil:

Edited to add: while Victoria Wood is a great comedy writer, I think she leaves a lot to be desired as a comedy actress (sorry, some will probably think this is sacrilege )
