Michel Roux book?

Post by Binky »

I can't find the appropriate place for this question but maybe a mod can direct as necessary?

There is a lovely series on the Food Network with Michel Roux presenting 'French Country Cooking'. The dishes are simple and something any competent cook can do in their own kitchen. The problem is that I've scoured the internet for a companion book but there doesn't seem to be one. There's French Country Kitchen but I don't think that's the one which relates to the TV series.

Does anyone know if there was a book published, or if not, has anyone used the French Country Kitchen and found it useful?

It might be that he called the accompanying book The French Country Kitchen as his father and uncle had previously published a book called French Country Cooking?

I’m not sure they produce books with every series these days. People get their recipes straight off the internet.

Think that’s why tv chefs don’t give amounts when showing recipes on their programmes. To get all the amounts you need to get the book or sign up to their website.

Thank you scullion. Those are the recipes. I've popped the link in my bookmarks.

OH is doing the cod with vermouth and orange tonight (I could remember the recipe as I only saw it yesterday).

No, the Roux Brothers did publish a book called French Country Cooking in 2011 (which is probably why there is no book of the series) but it is out of print, and I don't know exactly when the series was made, but obviously well after 2011

This is the book
