Why? That's silly. In September, dozens of kilograms of cocaine were found in banana deliveries to four stores of a French supermarket,
And I am making crystal meth (whatever that is) from the citric acid crystals bought from the hardware shop. A lot of this stuff has to be invented. The citric acid crystals are doing an excellent job of shifting the bathroom limescale though. No crystal meth made here. Or cocaine.
If I am going to turn to crime I don't think cheese will be my first option.

Re: Stolen cheese….
I think the implication was that the cocaine and the bananas came from the same country, and the cocaine should have been removed almost as soon as the boxes got to France, which appears to be routine, or just possibly someone thought it might be clever to leave it in the boxes and let the supermarkets take it to the towns where it would be sold

I'm beginning to think someone's got it in for British cheese! https://www.theguardian.com/food/2024/n ... in-customs

So sad EM … I really don’t know what those Brexit voters thought was going to happen when we left the EU … they obviously felt so ‘entitled’ on behalf of GB that they assumed we had carte blanche to do whatever we wanted regarding getting our products into Europe whether we belonged to the club and paid the membership fees or not.

They seemed to think we'd pick up the Empire where we left off. I hope we can at least make trading more straightforward - very soon.
Re: Stolen cheese….
Yes, EM, I was so, so, so sad and upset when I read that. I'm afraid the sheer lunacy of Brexit hasn't finished revealing itself yet. I fear we are going to keep on coming up against the consequences over and over again for many years to come, and in more ways than any of us could have thought possible or imagined.
The entitlement of those who think it's all the EU's fault drives me to distraction.
I'm afraid I have only kept one Brexiter friend - not that I had many to begin with of that persuasion - I know it is intolerant of me etc etc but I'm sorry, this isn't something I'm prepared to be tolerant about!!
