I use Lee Kum Kee black bean, hoisin and chilli bean sauces, can be found in my local Morrisons
Will keep an eye out Sue, I use that range for some things but never seen the black bean one.
Last night I made a stew/ragu to use up a small amount of leftover roast lamb and lurking veg. I had it with Ayrshire tatties and broccoli.
Trying another recipe from "Greekish" tonight - spinach and leek risotto.
Last night we went to a little burger/grill stall which sells food for a few hours every evening. 'Loaded fries' have passed me by generally but they offered them topped with chickpeas, tzatziki, salsa and crispy fried onions and 'Greek' cheese which I thought sounded rather nice. There is a Greek restaurant very close by so I wondered if they were connected.
Very nice. The proportion of chips to topping was very good and there was masses of feta style cheese. I could only manage half so might have the rest later. I had thought breakfast but wasn't hungry and had a dental appointment and had a feeling there was garlic. Lunch or supper maybe!
Yes, Suffs. Looking online it does appear to be closed. I thought I saw the signs outside which have been there for years when I arrived. I must look again tomorrow.
Anyway, the rest of the meal has just been eaten. DS bought me a lovely falafel wrap filled to the brim with nice things at the Rocket House for lunch. A huge portion with chips and a sweet salad (in the style of some Japanese salads). By the time I had eaten the chips and salad I had to ask for a doggy box for most of the wrap. Half the wrap accompanied the Greek thing tonight. There's half left for tomorrow . These places really could offer smaller meals to those who'd like them.
Delias chicken basque/basque chicken. It’s years since we last had it, but it’s still delicious. Esp as M&S sell a packet of chopped chorizo, just the right size for two, and Tesco sell a similar packet of sun-dried tomatoes. (So no wondering what to do with the rest of the packet. Something I hate!)
A made up as I went along stir fry, mainly courgette and prawns, some noodles, with spring onion, garlic, chilli, ginger, fish sauce, tamarind and herbs.
Yesterday I made a couple of baked arancini as there was some leftover over risotto. Not enough to be the main event but lovely as a side with chicken thighs and roast veg traybake.
Tonight it Jamie Oliver's Jerk chicken and pineapple sandwiches. I'll make some coleslaw to have with them.
Yesterday we had a very lazy scampi, chips and broccoli for supper.
Tonight’s supper will probably be very similar, but with breaded chicken fillets rather than the scampi this time. We might have sweetcorn …. or maybe frozen peas.

Cheese and leftover homemade coleslaw wrap for lunch. Pork steaks tonight topped with bbq sauce, fried garlic and rosemary. We'll have them with various veg and Ayrshire tatties.
Fish Friday with lemon sole, new pots & green beans - took some herb butter out of the freezer - I generally like my fish plain so as not to disguise its flavour.
Corned beef hash last night & baked beans. 'twas good.
About to start on a Thai chicken curry for tonight.
Tonight’s supper … a steak and onion pie (bought from the farm shop the other week and kept in the freezer for this week when I knew we’d not have time to get to the butcher)!with new potatoes, green beans and a rich homemade onion gravy.
Last night I had planned to make a veggie chilli then remembered there was a single portion in the freezer so had that with rice. Bit lacking in oomph but great texture despite having been frozen.
A chuck it all in kind of Spanish chicken, chicken thighs, cooking chorizo, butter beans. all sorts of veg, 3 kinds of paprika, the little beer bottle of Lidl tomato sauce,
Calamari in batter with a Greek salad and potato wedges with a spicy seasoning. Had some chilli mayonnaise for dipping the calamari. Very easy dinner after a busy afternoon and late finish in the garden.
