Re: Beverages

they won't be out here for a few weeks yet i take that back, saw quite a few trees in bloom on the way to the beaver project. i'll go and check my usual harvesting ground (walking distance), i think they may be a little later than some of the places around but they do have nice big flower heads and...

Re: Beverages

i would compare the flavour of both, as you have them, then decide if there's enough of a difference to bother with mixing them. i have always found that they taste pretty similar - just the different texture.

Re: Garlic powder

i always have garlic powder in the pantry, have done for decades. i find it useful for when i run out of fresh or for things like chilli - and for other dishes that don't need 'subtlety', if you see what i mean. i buy it loose from the zero plastic delivery or from the asian supermarket. i think the...

Re: Gardening Resources & Tips

I’m not going to subscribe to the garden bin collection as it will take at least one season to fill. [...]Is there anything I shouldn’t put in? we don't have a garden bin collection or food waste one either. we use a worm bin for cooked waste and the compost bin for the rest - we also use shredder ...

i've watched that too, fascinating. it has also made me wonder what measures are in place for the next (imminent?) eruption other than going to pray as shown at the end of the last episode... the interpretation of the painting as a pizza was a little bit speculative for my liking when you consider t...

Re: "Danish Peasant Girl with a Veil"

Scullion, part of the point of package blancmange was that as adults didn't on the whole eat it, it could be made up by the kids themselves, an early step in cooking and maths, if as I did. you only made up half a sachet (two portions) maybe in your house. i never made up a percentage of a packet w...

i really, really miss frugrains - i have trawled the web for the ingredients to make some. they disappeared from the holland and barret shop in the mid to late nineties. the kids and i used eat them like sweets. i've only recently found that 'grapevine' sell the whole dried bananas - though i have m...

i think i must have had a deprived childhood - we never had anything called cremola, never heard of the eiffel tower stuff (other than the real one), didn't have visits from the corona drinks van and never had bread in milk (or tea) and never had junket. the only time i had a sugar sandwich, which s...
