That looks very nice Binky, it’s ‘ our ‘ side of town. A good location, near enough to town to walk in but still quiet.

Binky wrote:herbidacious, you might already know this but other posters could find it useful: if you are buying wine in quantity (say for a party/wedding/christmas) then Calais Wine Warehouse and Majestic Wine in Calais both offer free Eurotunnel crossings. Minimum spend £400 for a day trip, and £550 (?) for an overnight stay.

Crikey scully, I'd want full board for that!
I really can live without smashed avocado too.

Me too - although I love avocado, the texture of it when it's "smashed" makes me heave!

In all fairness that charge includes a river cruise on a beautifully restored boat, in one of the most beautiful parts of the UK as well as the breakfast ... I think it looks a very fair price

I can see that it looks very well done and I'm sure its lovely. I suppose it just depends if it's something that appeals enough to want to do it.

Not for me that boat - lovely views & all that, but eating in such close proximity to total strangers would be a total no-no - there would be nowhere to run if the biggest bore of all time was sitting next to me!!
I don't usually have much of an appetite in the morning - but my idea of a heavenly breakfast would be fried bacon, laverbread & cockles and more
Want some NOW...................!!

hahahaha, each to their own, i would rather pay for the boat trip and risk the chance of the bore than have that for breakfast!
i had a fifteen pound breakfast, about fifteen years ago, at fifteen (cornwall). mushrooms on toast - really, really good. it made a change from the usual friday after training (swimming) breakfast at sainsbugs.

i think i do, i was eleven or twelve when i became vegetarian. before then i would sneak my bacon to a school friend and avoid repeat offerings of cockles - i'd rather chew elastic bands.

Gosh, I love it! Especially good with the addition of a wee bit of finely chopped chilli.
Food, felines and fells (in no particular order)

Smashed avocado on toast is lovely with tomatoes on top and a sprinkling of Tajin Clasico seasoning as recommended by Herbi and a couple of other posters on the WF FB group

If the DailyMail to be believed (and of course it’s not) our breakfasts are a thing of the past.

I don’t like smashed avocado with runny eggs either but I don’t like the sound of cloud eggs.

Oh dear, I have enough trouble making myself look passably photogenic in the morning, let alone my breakfast .

I really like a BLT with added avo and can imagine it would be great with tajin, I'd have it for dinner though, or perhaps in the afternoon as I never eat breakfast and rarely lunch either.

Ick - no 'millennial' brekkie for me! Tho, I admit that I have to be in the mood for a boildy egg, these days.

I'd be happy to try cloud eggs.
I like smoked fish for breakfast when I'm away but kedgeree is a bit too heavy for me in the morning.
I do enjoy it in the evening though.
