Lidl’s are doing two fillets of sea bass for £1.99. Sea bass is my favourite fish, I think it’s beautiful . I roasted slices of sweet potato and red pepper with za’tar , then added asparagus , cherry tomatoes them finally the fish at various stages doing cooking . Chucked some homegrown basil over the top and garlicky dressing

I haven't posted for ages! Thinking back.... Saturday we had mahi with a cannelini bean, choritzo, tomato mixture and brocolli. Sunday OH made a beef stew in the slow cooker. We've only recently discovered the slow cooker and don't usually eat stews so a lovely change. He had rice I had mash. On Monday we had chicken roti that I brought home - a colleague at work had made them . Last night we had salmon with stir fried veg. Tonight OH has requested chicken escalopes and...... Waitrose potato rosti. Bizarrely we can get some Waitrose products here!

That does look nice AmyW. I picked some Sea Bass up rtc today, it's in the freezer.
Good to 'see' you Rocky, I was reading the other day about horrible dust blowing towards the Caribbean from the Sahara and thought of you, I hope it didn't go in your direction.
Not been eating anything overly exciting here. I went shopping today and picked up other rtc items too so it was pizza tonight.

Nice looking seabass!
We made a gorgeous apple and cider cake earlier in the week.
A summery minestrone with tiny pasta, rainbow chard, tomatoes and a little bit of leftover chicken.
Smoked tofu and veg stir fry with sesame noodles.
Quite a few bbqs and picnics and ice creams.
We’re having a bbq’d seafood mixed grill tonight...salmon fillets, squid, large shell on prawns, lemon wedges, aioli, asparagus and some salt and vinegar potatoes roasted in the oven.

Thanks EM. It has been the sandstorm of a generation apparently. We get Saharan dust every year but never like this - it was like thick fog for days, there is a thick layer of dust everywhere and quite a few respiratory problems....
For lunch I've had a chicken salad. We are out for dinner and I plan to have Pad Thai with mahi mahi

I was making an aubergine and roast passata stuff with my first courgette of the gardening season thing to be followed by cherry clafoutis, until my kitchen disaster. (cf wildfood camp.)

Just cold meat and salad for me yesterday but I did make a rather simple
but nice potato salad to go with it having had the foresight to buy some spring onions. I've got chives in the garden but like spring onion tops in potato salad.

I made some babaganush (simply because there was some fresh pita bread in the supermarket!) and accompanied that with a lentil, parsley and cherry tomato salad.
That hit the spot!
Then I made some cheese & bacon scones. Just had (another) one as a mid-morning snack.

Earthmaiden, I always add spring onions to potato salad, it's just not right otherwise, I currently have some in the fridge which will be part of dinner with cold meat, cheese and pate.
Last night I had garlic flatbread dipped in warm tomato pasta sauce and then anchovies.
It was absolutely delicious, I got the idea from Jose Andres restaurant, Jaleo, though I'm sure his is much better quality than mine!

I can do that too ... José Andrés ...
I have the key Alt/GR just to the right of the space bar .. you hold that down at the same time as pressing E. Works for other vowels too: á é í ó ú I don't know how to do an umlaut.

Sorry, I missed the lemonade request. I use this as a base (thanks Shirley)
Cut 2 lemons up a bit and remove any pips (lemons unwaxed and organic if poss - if not unwaxed scrub them under
hot tap, obvs) throw in blender, add some sugar - about 3ozs for two lemons but you can add as much as you like -
and a scant half pint cold water. Blitz and strain through sieve, pushing down well on debris. Fill a glass with ice
cubes and pour over. Or if you don't want ice dilute with water (still or fizzy) to taste - prob about half and half.
Incredibly quick and easy, easily doubled or singled and keeps well in fridge.
It works well in a liquidiser, but large quantities seem to leak from a magimix.
It seems to freeze well too if you accidentally make too much

Thank you Amber! The lemonade looks good, will be interested to try it. Liquidising peel as well must give very good flavour.
