I thought that he was self isolating in Cornwall, one of his many houses.
One of the problems is that I like his recipes but am not keen on him

I am sure I read this morning that he has hot footed back up here after realising he has alienated his neighbours in Cornwall

Interesting re GR. I’ve never cared for him, spreads himself too thin, courts publicity etc. but a couple of years ago our kids bought us lunch at the Chefs Table in the kitchen Of The Savoy Grill as a Christmas present. At the time the Head Chef was a lovely girl called Kim Woodward who has since moved on. She, and her team, were effusive in the extreme about Gordon and how much work he put in. She didn’t come across as a sycophant either. Even when he’s living in the US he still visits all his London kitchens at least once a month. She said he was helpful, encouraging and never let his standards drop. And they all clearly loved him to bits.
I wonder if it’s a case of the TV persona being different to the real thing as in so many.

Oh, I'm pretty sure Ramsey is a 'Brand' like so many others - just not a brand I like - he's hyped it up too much - waaaay too much!
Re: Gordon Ramsay uncharted
If his tv persona is constructed I can only assume I’m not part of the demographic he’s aiming for.

i wonder if they feel the same after he sacked them just before lockdown - and i wonder how many of those staff members have gone back to work for him now he says he's opening his restaurant in the coming week.

Well I am a huge Gordon Ramsay fan.
And I love all of his shows - although I´m absolutely positive that the TV personality has nothing to do with the real person, whom I believe to be a 100% perfectionist, and jealous of his creations to the hilt.
Give me more, I say.

Ditto KKDA! Huge fan. And I agree on your observations. The man can do no wrong in the kitchen and is a flawless chef with an impeccable palate. Does everything to absolute perfection from Shepherds Pie to Mille Feuille. Doesn't suffer fools gladly but then who wants to!
