I haven’t posted here for a long time but do pop in for a look now and again. Shattered to learn of Joan’s passing. I remember her from the BBC board and as Ratatouille on Wildfood. Always enjoyed her posts, stories and recipes. Sincere condolences to her family.

Such sad news. My sincere condolences to Joan's family.

I remember her from Masterchef and as Ratatouille too and so enjoyed her posts, wisdom and knowledge. The Board will be certainly be poorer for her loss.

May she rest in eternal peace.

This is very sad. I remember the first Masterchef series and once I saw the contemporary photograph, it all clicked.

Even sadder for us, because, if the virus lockdown hadn't happened, we were planning to take our autumn holiday down that way and try and meet up.

Our condolences to all her family.

To be honest, Scullion, I don't know if he is in the UK for a funeral, or still in France unable to travel.
I'm sure he is coping well, as the entire family was united and supportive all the time.

I shall post if I hear anything more from her OH. They will be in private family time at the moment. It must be extraordinarily difficult making those arrangements for the North East.

I have just received an email from Joan's husband.
They are leaving for the UK this morning very early. He says
The funeral is at 1pm on Tuesday 12th and I know you will all be with us in spirit.

There was an article in the local paper, that I know he is proud of: https://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/news/no ... r-18151171

Thank you Gill. I'm sure we'll all be thinking of them as they make their sad journey, and on 12th.

(I can't open the link either).

Thanks Gill, it was lovely to read about her life and all that she achieved during it. Such a shame we will be without her comments and knowledge.
